Students identified by a local school screening committee for Part-Time advanced academic services are challenged through models and strategies designed to extend and enrich the POS in the four core subject areas. Students receive direct instruction from an educator endorsed in advanced academics or gifted education, often the Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART), at their local school.
Each year a local committee screens all students in grades 3-6 for possible participation in Part-Time advanced academic services. Parents and guardians may submit the AAP Subject-Specific or Part-Time Services Referral Form to the AART any time during the school year.
