At Herndon High, sustainability isn’t just a concept—it’s a daily mission led by our students. The Get2Green team, affectionately known as the "Eco Angels," has taken charge of our school’s environmental impact. With their very own custom logo and a passion for our planet, this group of students is proving that small, consistent actions lead to big changes.

Hands-On Sustainability

The work of the Eco Angels goes far beyond simple awareness. Every week, these students can be found navigating the hallways to collect recycling bins from classrooms and offices. Their responsibilities include:

• Sorting Materials:Carefully separating trash from paper and cardboard to ensure our recycling streams remain clean and effective.
• Managing Logistics:Learning the full lifecycle of waste by taking collected materials to the large receptacles located behind the school.
• Direct Engagement:Witnessing the recycling process firsthand, which helps them better understand how their efforts support a larger, more sustainable community.

By taking the initiative to manage our school’s waste, the Eco Angels are not only keeping our campus clean but are also setting a standard for responsible stewardship among their peers.
