Senior Dues, Debts, Fees, and Survey

Class of 2026 Senior Dues

  • $70
  • $35 (free and reduced)(pay by check or cash)

Dues can be paid in myschoolbucks , a check made out to "Herndon High School," or by cash. Please see Ms. Mejia in the main office to pay by check or cash. 

What do these dues cover? Cap and gown, senior t-shirt, senior picnic, diploma, and the graduation venue.

Financial Obligations

All students are asked to follow these guidelines to inquire about any financial obligation:

  • To inquire about library fines, see Ms. Wolfe/Ms. Duggan in the library.
  • To inquire about other debts (such as lost textbooks and senior dues), see Ms. Mejia, in the Main Office.
  • To pay any financial obligation, please follow these procedures:
    • Go to MySchoolBucks.com to pay online
    • See Ms. Bradley in the Finance Office to pay by credit/debit in person
    • See Ms. Mejia in the Main Office to pay by cash/check in person

Thank you for clearing your financial obligations prior to our first graduation rehearsal (Date TBD).

All student fees/dues/debts must be paid in full before graduation gowns will be issued.

Senior Survey

  • The FCPS Senior Survey will be administered in English classes April 28–May 1, 2026; students must attend and bring their FCPS laptop.
  • The survey records post-secondary plans (college, military, employment, etc.) and final college application outcomes, as required by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).
  • Seniors attending college will designate where Herndon sends their final transcript; waitlist schools can also be requested. Notify the Transcript Assistant if plans change.
  • Students will report FAFSA completion, federal financial aid grants received, and any merit-based scholarships they are accepting — bring a financial aid award letter and scholarship details for accuracy.

    • Herndon Middle School
    • Aldrin, Armstrong, Clearview, Dranesville, Herndon, and Hutchison Elementary Schools
  • Permission slips will be sent in early May

Graduation Ceremony

  • Date:June 12, 2026
  • Time:2:00 PM
  • Location:EagleBank Arena, George Mason University

Graduation Rehearsals (Required)

All seniors must attend both rehearsals:

  • June 9, 2026 at 1:30 PM (Main Gym)
  • June 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM (Main Gym)

Caps and Gowns

Requirements

  • All financial obligations must be paid before receiving cap and gown (including missing Chromebooks and/or chargers)
  • Students cannot participate in graduation without them

Distribution Schedule

  • June 4: Pay fees only (Finance Office)
  • June 5: 9:45–11:45 AM (Library)
  • June 8–9: Library (all required check-out items)
  • June 10: Final distribution

Student Attire

  • Dress formally
  • Wear dress shoes
  • Not allowed: jeans, flip-flops, boots, athletic shoes

Cap and Gown Guidelines

  • No alterations
  • No corsages or boutonnieres
  • Bobby pins recommended to secure caps

Entry and Security Guidelines

For Graduates

  • Only car keys allowed
  • No phones or cameras
  • All students will go through security screening

Arena Security (All Attendees)

  • All guests pass through weapons detectors
  • No bag policy recommended

Allowed Bags (if necessary):

  • Clear bags (max 12” x 12” x 6”)
  • 1-gallon clear zip bags
  • Small clutch (max 5” x 7”)
  • Medical/parenting bags (subject to inspection)

Behavior Expectations

  • Maintain appropriate behavior for a formal ceremony
  • Prohibited:
    • Noisemakers
    • Large signs (over 18” x 18”)
    • Balls or balloons
  • Violations may result in removal

Prohibited Items

Items not allowed include:

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Noisemakers
  • Outside food and drinks
  • Glass or metal containers
  • Drugs or paraphernalia
  • Laser pointers, drones
  • Tripods, selfie sticks
  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Large bags or luggage
  • Wrapped gifts
  • Non-collapsible umbrellas
  • Skateboards or hoverboards
  • Unauthorized flyers or materials

Signs and Posters Guidelines

Guests may bring small signs if they:

  • Are 18” x 18” or smaller
  • Are event-related
  • Are not attached to poles
  • Do not block views or signage
  • Do not contain offensive language/images
  • Are made of paper, fabric, or poster board
  • Are not commercial or political

Parking

  • Available in Lots A, K, and L

Day of Graduation

  • Graduates must arrive by 1:00 PM
  • Guests should arrive 1 hour early
  • Seating is first come, first served
  • No tickets required
  • Students exit at Door 8 (East side)
  • Families meet graduates outside

Photography and Video Guidelines

For Guests

  • Remain seated
  • Do not stand in aisles
  • No tripods or equipment

Provided by School

  • Professional photographer for each graduate
  • Live-streamed ceremony
  • Large screens display graduates
