At Aldrin ES, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some digital resources cannot be used by students until we obtain consent from their guardian. Use the QR Code to access the Digital Resources Parent Consent website to learn more and give consent. You will need to log in to the consent form using your SIS ParentVUE username and password.

Take Care

•  I will take care of the device I’m using and tell my teacher if it’s broken, stolen, or lost. As a class, we have agreed on the consequences if I lose or break a device, and I understand those consequences.
• I understand that the device belongs to the school.
• I will carry the laptop carefully
• I will not make any marks, draw on the laptop, place or remove any stickers from the laptop.
• I will shut down and carefully plug in my laptop at the end of each school day.

Stay Safe

• I will not create accounts or give out any private information — such as my full name, date of birth, address, phone number, or photos of myself - without my permission
• I will not visit any websites that are inappropriate for my age and for being at school.
• I will not share my passwords with anyone other than my family. I will ask my family to help me with privacy settings if I want to set up devices, accounts, or profiles.
• If anyone makes me feel pressured or uncomfortable or acts inappropriately toward me online, I’ll stop talking to that person and will tell a trusted adult about it.

Think First

• I will not bully, humiliate, or upset anyone online — whether through sharing photos, videos, or screenshots, spreading rumors or gossip, or setting up fake profiles — and I will stand up to those who do.
• I know that whatever I share online can spread fast and far. I will not post anything online that could harm my reputation.
• Whenever I use, reference, or share someone else’s creative work online, I will give proper credit to the author or artist.
• I know that not everything I read, hear, or see online is true. I will consider whether a source or author is credible.

In exchange, my family agrees to:

• Reinforce and remind me of the school’s rules for using laptops
• Help me access resources to help practice at home
• Communicate with the teacher with any concerns or questions.

Laptop Misuse

Your child has not used the laptop appropriately at school. They have lost the privilege to use the laptop because of the following behaviors: 

•  Watching YouTube (not school videos)
• Visiting inappropriate websites
• Chatting with other students on the computer
• Physically damaging the laptop
• Other: 

Please read over the rules with your child and remind them of the importance of being focused at school. They will not be allowed to use the laptop until this form is signed and returned to school. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Uso indebido de la computadora

Su hijo no ha usado la computadora adecuadamente en la escuela. Han perdido el privilegio de usar la computadora debido a los siguientes comportamientos:

• Mirar YouTube (no videos escolares)
• Visita páginas inapropiadas
• Chateando con otros estudiantes en la computadora
• Daña físicamente la computadora (rayar, roturar)

Lea las reglas con su hijo y recuérdales la importancia de concentrarse en la escuela. No se les permitirá usar la computadora hasta que este formulario sea firmado y devuelto a la escuela. Avíseme si tiene alguna pregunta.
