Ms. Balangyao3rd Grade Teacher Hello! My name is Eva Balangyao, and I'm a 3rd grade teacher. I've been teaching for several years in the Philippines, and I love helping young learners grow both academically and socially. I enjoy seeing students discover new stories and express their ideas. I believe in creating a classroom where everyone feels safe, respected, and excited to learn. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, spending time with family, and exploring new nature here in United State of America.
Mr. Maitra3rd Grade Teacher Hello, my name is Mr. Maitra, and I am a proud graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools and hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration. I have a diverse teaching background, having worked with students of various grade levels in both American and international schools. Most recently, I taught 5th Grade at Coates, and I taught abroad in Japan just prior to that. I am passionate about education and deeply committed to making a positive impact on students’ lives. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, running, playing sports, and gardening.
Dr. Plesa3rd Grade Teacher I've been in education 20+ years. Teaching in Los Angeles Unified and Compton Unified School Districts as well as Adjunct Professor with Chapman and National Univ. Favorite subject to teach is Language Arts with emphasis in writing.
Ms. Ramirez3rd Grade Teacher I was born and raised in Southern California. I am a Historian by trade. I have been teaching for 27 years. This is my fourth year in Virginia. I have been the Athletic Coordinator for Team Hawks Athletic Program (THAP), the Attendance/Data Manager for the Middle School After School Program (ASP), MS AVID Coordinator, and the ELD-Academic Language and Civics Teacher. This year, I will be teaching 3rd Grade.
Ms. Russell3rd Grade Teacher This is Ms. Russell's fifth year at Coates ES. Ms. Russell graduated from James Madison University with her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and her Masters in Elementary General Education. She completed her Special Education Certification from George Mason University. Ms. Russell has worked with fourth grade, first grade, third grade, and second students for the last six years. When not at school, Ms. Russell enjoys spending time at her family's lake house and time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.
Ms. Solotruk3rd Grade Teacher Hello! My name is Miss S. I am going into my fourth year of teaching! I am excited as I grow into my new role as an inclusion teacher. I love teaching 3rd grade:) In my spare time, I love hanging out with my cats, Shelley and Blue, watching TV shows/movies, and reading.
Ms. Valli3rd Grade Teacher Hi! My name is Anabelle Valli. I earned my B.A. in Education from American University, and I’m thrilled to begin my first year of teaching here at Coates! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking, camping, reading, and spending time with my friends, family, and pets.
