Agents of Change - 7th-Grade Final Presentations

As part of an innovative cross-curricular project linking English and History, 7th-grade students were tasked with a compelling challenge: "How can you, as a budding comic book writer for Marvel/DC Comics, design a hero who promotes positive change in our world?"

Throughout this project, students have delved into the historical impacts of key figures from the Civil Rights Movement and imagined how these influences could shape a superhero who exemplifies positive change. After designing their superheroes, each group crafted a comic book detailing their superheroes' origins and adventures.

Feel free to ask your 7th grader about their superhero’s achievements, as well as have them give you a sneak peek of their comic book before their final presentation next week!

🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Safe Routes to School Data Collection

Fairfax County Public Schools Safe Routes to School, in partnership with VDOT, will be placing temporary pedestrian and bicycle countersaround Cooper Middle School.

These devices will help count how many students and families are walking and biking in the area. The data will guide future efforts to improve walking and biking safety near the school.

The counters will be in place for a short time and will not record any personal information—they only count the number of people passing by.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to make school travel safer and healthier!

Expunge Form

Middle school offers the unique opportunity to expunge a high school credit course (HS math courses and World Language Courses). This means that there would be no record of this year’s grade on their high school transcript.
