Congratulations to Ms. Mejia!

Congratulations to Emmeline (Emme) Mejia! 

Our own Ms. Mejia won the FCPS Secondary New Teacher of the Year award last week at the annual FCPS Honors Event! To achieve this award she was first nominated at the school level, then went on to the pyramid and next Region 2 level. She was selected as the winner for each of those levels which then placed her among the other Region winners for this award. Last Wednesday night, at the FCPS Honors event, she was announced as the winner for all of Fairfax County Public Schools.We are very proud to have Ms. Mejia as a part of our family here. She is in her second year teaching ESOL classes, and is already making a huge impact. Her work goes beyond individualized lesson plans for students as she seeks opportunities for students through local resources. She is a mentor with Young Life, a leader in the EnFuego soccer club, and has also brought in resources to assist students in getting physicals to name just a few. Congratulations Ms. Mejia!
