Hello, Mustangs Families! At West Springfield Elementary, our Wellness Team is dedicated to supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of every student. Our team includes the school counselor, school social worker, school psychologist, family liaison, and military and family life counselor (MFLC).
We are committed to providing a positive, safe, and supportive environment where all children can learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging in our school community. School Counselor

As the school counselor, I support all students in their personal, social, emotional, and academic growth. I teach classroom lessons, provide individual and small group counseling, and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to help every child succeed. Using data, evidence-based programs, and best practices, I implement a comprehensive counseling program that fosters student wellness and strengthens our school community. I look forward to partnering with you to support the success and well-being of our children!
School Social Worker
- School Social Worker
School social workers:
- Serve as liaison between home, school, and community
- Link students and families to community resources to address issues such as poverty, chronic absenteeism, trauma, and child abuse
- Provide individual and group counseling to students
- Participate in student-centered meetings to address academic, mental health, and behavioral needs
- Provide crisis interventions to include conducting suicide risk assessments and threat assessments
School Psychologist
- School Psychologist
School psychologists provide:
- Counseling: Psychologists implement evidenced-based techniques and curricula to foster social skills, address mental health concerns, and enhance self regulation skills.
- Assessment: Psychologists explore students' strengths and areas of need to aid school teams in identifying educational needs and generating interventions. This may take the form of:
- Individualized classroom interventions
- Psychological evaluation and assessments used to assist in determining special education or Section 504 eligibility.
- Functional Behavior Analysis & Behavior Intervention Plans
- Crisis Assessments
- Consultation: Psychologists collaborate with families, teachers, counselors, administrators, community agencies, private providers, and others to develop a well-rounded understanding of and approach to the student's social, emotional, and academic needs.
Military and Family Life Counselor

As an MFLC, I can provide a wide range of support for you and your family. Some of the support may look like providing education on a variety of topics affecting young people, including anger and aggression, bullying, conflict resolution, divorce, feelings, self-esteem, separation, sibling and parental relationships, time management and more. I also provide individual and group (lunch bunches) non-medical counseling. Services are confidential and free. Children under 18 must have written parental consent to receive CYB-MFLC support. Parents and or legal guardians must sign and return consent form to MFLC to receive services. The consent forms below are in English and Spanish. They are also available in main lobby.
