How to report Overtime to benefit from the “No Tax on Overtime” as promised in the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act. (OBBBA)
As you prepare to file your 2025 income tax returns, you may need to identify the specific amount paid to you in overtime premiums. While your Form W-2 provides your total taxable earnings, it does not list overtime premiums as a separate line item.
To find this information, you will need to reference your final pay stub of the 2025 calendar year.
How to Access Your Information:
All pay stubs are hosted in our employee self-service portal, UConnect .
- Log in to UConnect.
- Navigate to the Pay.
- Next, choose Pay Checks.
- Select your last pay stub of 2025.
- Click on “Printable Pay Stub”.
- Look for the Year-to-Date (YTD) column on the far right in the earnings breakdown.
What to Look For:
In the earnings table from your pay advice:
- The overtime Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) premium amount is labeled as “ Pay-Overtime FLSA” or “ Pay-Overtime FLSA-Manual Entry”.
The amount listed in the Year to Date (YTD)column represents your total premium pay for the entire year and may be includable on your tax return. For more information, please see: IRS Page on the OBBBA .
Important Update: Maximizing Your Tax-Free Overtime
To ensure you benefit from the new tax-free status of overtime premiums, please follow these updated reporting guidelines. Because the "Callback" rate is an FCPS custom rather than a legal requirement, it does not qualify for tax-free status.
