The Fairfax County Employees’ Retirement System (FCERS) is a single employer defined benefit pension plan considered part of the County of Fairfax, Virginia’s (“County”) reporting entity and their financial statements are included in the County’s basic financial statements as a pension trust fund.
There are over 6,000 Fairfax County Public School employees who are members of the Fairfax County Employees’ Retirement System (FCERS).

- Part-time teachers and operational staff

- Trades and Maintenance

The FCERS pension plan Life Insurance Certificate document for all actively at work employees who are members of the FCERS pension plan and employees who were members of the FCERS pension plan at the time of retirement, including information regarding:
Basic Life Insurance, Supplemental Life Insurance, Dependent Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, and
Supplemental Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance.
