What's new in Play Console

You can now see which versions of your app are being used by selecting the new App version dimension as a breakdown or filter for your Engagement metrics, like DAU and MAU, on the Statistics page.

Engagement metrics now more accurately compensate for users who have opted out of data-sharing. You may see a change in your Daily Active Users (DAU), Monthly Active Users (MAU), and other metrics that rely on that data starting on April 22, 2025. Plus, more apps will now have access to engagement metrics.

You can now test your deep links using an emulator directly embedded within the Deep links page in Play Console. This allows you to instantly verify your configuration without leaving Play Console or needing a separate device. Streamline your testing workflow and ensure your deep links work as expected, all from one place.

You can now add an optional animated asset to promotional content events, which can help your app reach a wider audience.

We've updated the way pre-registrations are counted to only include active pre-registered devices. Previously, this included devices that became inactive, or pre-registered multiple times.

We’ve added new metrics to help you monitor and analyse pre-registrations, acquisitions and opens coming from your store listings.

We've added more details to the Promotional content page to show the impact of featured events that you've run, as well as any remaining featuring requests you have for the current quarter.

Add YouTube channels or playlists to showcase your game's features, gameplay, and updates on the games tab and your store listing. This fresh content helps to re-engage users, encouraging them to open or re-install your app.

To qualify, games must meet our eligibility criteria.

You can now create custom audiences for promotional content by uploading a list of email addresses, instead of integrating with the Play Grouping API.

You can now choose lapsed and churned users as your target audience for promotional content events. Lapsed and churned users are users who uninstalled your app, or haven’t opened it in the last 28 days. Events which target specific user groups typically have higher conversion rates.

You can now choose 'Inactive users' as your target audience for promotional content events. Inactive users are users who uninstalled your app, or haven't used your app in the last 28 days.

You can now add deep links to promotional content events to send users to a specific place in your app.

This helps to reduce friction in your users' journeys, and helps to get them to the right place in your app with a single tap. You can also embed identifiers in deep links to help pinpoint the campaigns that are driving installs and engagement.

We've brought your default store listing (previously called your main store listing) and your custom store listings together to help you manage them more easily, and compare their performance

You can now add, turn off, and fix issues with deep links in Play Console without publishing a new version of your app, to give you greater control and flexibility

You can now create custom store listings to target users who find your app using specific keywords on Google Play. Go to Store listings for recommended keywords and help with drafting custom store listings using Gemini.

You can now create custom store listings to customize your store listing assets for users who visit your store listing from an integrity protection remediation dialog - whether it’s an Integrity API remediation dialog, or from Play’s automatic protection

Prompt users running an outdated or broken version of your app to update to the latest available compatible version remotely from Play Console, without any prior integration work. Keeping users on the latest version of your app can help improve your app's user experience and security.
