Kylie Frey is from Opelousas, Louisiana. She gained national attention as a contestant on Season 18 of “ America’s Got Talent .”
There she showcased her singing talent but was eliminated in the Semifinals.
Kylie comes from a large rodeo family. She grew up immersed in rodeo culture and developed a passion for singing.
She performed the American National Anthem at every rodeo she attended. Inspired by Reba McEntire , Kylie’s grandfather encouraged her to sing at these events.
He hoped she would one day perform at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), known as the “ Super Bowl ” of rodeo.
This strong connection to her roots has greatly influenced her music and goals.
Kylie Frey created a special song called “ Horses in Heaven” to honor her late grandfather, who was a big influence in her life.
The song was part of her 2020 EP Rodeo Queen and tells the story of their close bond and her rodeo roots.
Kylie always wanted to sing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), just like her grandfather hoped she would.
In 2020, she achieved that dream. On the same night, she met country star Randy Houser , who was also performing at the NFR.
They decided to record a new version of “ Horses in Heaven ” together. Their duet became very popular and topped the Texas Regional Radio Report.
Kylie is grateful to Houser for adding a new dimension to the song and for helping share her grandfather’s memory with more people.
