Researchers had a group of subjects(被験者) consume different types of chocolate and then complete a variety of tasks designed to test cognitive(認識の、認知の) performance. After controlling for variables(変数), the researchers noted that verbal (言葉の)and visual memory scores were higher for milk chocolate eaters, while milk and dark chocolate eaters had improved impulse control and reaction time. Chocolate contains substances that act as stimulants(興奮剤), such as theobromine and caffeine.
