We bought Sony Home Theater 3D Sound Bar System (CT150) for our Sony BRAVIA. We had some problem with "BRAVIA” Sync with Control for HDMI when it goes thru our cable box. Unfortunately we found out Sony provides no support; we must buy Sony Tier 2 Product Support service. We bought our first Sony TV in 1988 when Sony had great support/customer service. Since then always Sony became our first choice of Electronic products, but no longer... We buy Japanese products for quality and service. We know Sony is not doing well, and we think their poor supports will accelerate their decline. Anyway we bought the Logitech harmony 700 controller to replaced 2 Sony BRAVIA controllers, 1 cable box controller, and 1 media player. Logitech support was very helpful. We feel confident to buy their products now. (We already have their keyboard, mouse, PC camera....)
For regular older people like us, it’s very hard to keep up with Hi-tech products. The manuals are never helpful, they must be written by non-English speakers. Sometimes we get lucky to find the answer on message board or Youtube. But most of time, we have to spend hours to figure out by ourselves how to solve the problems.
Increasing senior population means there are need for better product supports. I hope Sony will quickly turn around their business model before it disappears.
