テーマ： 英語と中国語のお勉強日記(510)

ＧＷをはさんで久しぶりのＮＯＶＡなのでワクワク。ストレス解消にもなるので。
今日はいつにもまして難しかった。講師のスピーキングめちゃくちゃ早い。ＴＯＥＩＣのリスニングより、ＮＨＫの副音声より全然早い。生徒の間に”ゲッわかんないよ～”という雰囲気が流れる。それでも最近はへこたれなくなった。みんなで協力してたくさん質問して理解しようとする雰囲気が好きだ。
Ｆ０４ Martin (England)
「You have to come!」テーマはPERSUADE(説得する）
誘う→断わられる→さらに説得する
[Inviting 誘う]
・Hey, I'm going to that rock concert on Friday.Do you want to come along?
・What are you up to on Saturday night?I'm having a dinner party if you can make it.
up to の使い方って慣れない。
[Responding 応答する]
・Well,I'd love to,but I'm sorry,I can't make it.I'll be out of town.Thanks anyway.
・Yeah I'm up for that.What time?
・That's a shame. I've already got plans with Dave.Sorry about that.Maybe next time.
・Great.Count me in.（私を数に入れて！・・・参加するよ、の意味）
断るときは長い文になる。覚えられない。
[Persuading with enthusiam 熱く説得する]
・Come on!You're into rock,aren't you?
・You really should try and make it.Some great bands are playing!
・You'd be crazy to miss it!It's going to be a great night.
[Persuading with guilt 後ろめたく説得する（イマイチわからない）]
・A lot of people will be really disappointed if you don' come!
・I was counting on you to turn up!
・It won't be same if you don't come.
テキストを閉じて、言葉を入れ替えて何度も練習したのがよかった。

「I can see your point,but ･･･」テーマはDisagreeing politely 丁寧な反対のしかた。
森林伐採を題材としたディスカッションだったので苦労した。
講師が「日本人はどうして割り箸を使い捨てにするのか。だから森が減るんだ」
という突っ込みどころ満載のテーマを出したので（講師は本気だったみたいだけれど）結構白熱した。あまった木材から作るから無駄ではない、割り箸が森林伐採に与える影響は微々たるもの、それより欧米の方が資源の無駄使いをしてるのでは、洗剤使いすぎだよ、などど言いたい放題。この回の目標であるpolitelyを忘れています。
ホントは以下の語を使う練習でした。
・I personally belive that･･･
・From my point of view･･･
・I see what you mean,but on the other hand･･･
・I understand what you're saying,but･･･
・Yes,but you have to consider･･･
