今日の日経新聞に 天候デリバティブ
の記事が載っていました。
天候デリバティブとは、天候不順によって企業が被る損失を補填するための金融派生商品で、商品を提供する損害保険会社の契約高が最近大きく伸びているそうです。
Complex financial products called "weather derivatives" can provide compensation against weather-related risk(or uncertainty). For example, when a golf operating company expects sales decrease due to extream heat weather, it tends to buy this financial product to compensate the losses. In addition, energy utilities, soft drink producers and fresh food producers are also exposed to weather-related uncertainty(risk). They are interested in sophisticated weather forecasts and make good use of "weather-derivatives".
ここ２週間ほど仕事が立て込んでいて英語の方はペースダウン気味です。
来週からは何とか回復したいです。
