A study comparing the genetics of Caucasians from the US and Nigerians has shown a significant difference between the groups, especially in genes involved in producing antibodies(抗体)to combat bacterial infection(感染). The study also found that activity levels varied significantly in genes involved in basic cellular processes and may explain why some populations respond differently to various drugs and medical treatments. Researchers are quick to point out that these results cannot be generalized across entire races and that sampling people from different parts of a country could uncover different genetic patterns.
