☆日本でも『栄光への脱出』などのヒットで知られるアメリカのイージー・リスニング・ピアノ・デュオ；フェランテ＆タイシャーのヒットアルバム4枚を2枚組CDにコンバイルしたアルバム『FERRANTE AND TEICHER / 4Classic Albums』が、先日英国のAvid Easyレーベルよりリリースされた。
映画音楽・ジャズスタンダード・ポピュラーヒットなど全47曲収録され、『栄光の脱出 / Exodus』もDisc.1の1曲目に収録されている。

Between 1950 and 1980, the piano duo Arthur Ferrante and his buddy Louis Teicher were a major American easy listening act and scored four big U.S. hits: "Theme from The Apartment" "Theme from Exodus" , "Tonight" , and "Midnight Cowboy" They performed popular standards by George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, and many other and recorded regularly with pops orchestras etc. The pair met while studying at the famed Juilliard School of Music in New York in 1930 and began their professional music career in 1947. If you like easy listening piano music you will love these two! We have selected four early albums from what was arguably the duo's heyday in the 1960s. However for those with a little more adventurous ears the duo did come over all John Cage when they started experimenting with "prepared piano and assorted noises in the late 1950s when many of the avant garde composers like Cage and Stockhausen were emerging from the underground. Ferrante and Teicher retired in 1989 after an amazingly successful 42 year career and went on to live long lives before dying in 2008 and 2009 respectively well into their eighties.
