I am here for you when you need me,
I have been here for you for many many years now.
In turn you have been there for me, more than once.
But dear friend, some days I wish I never knew you.
I love you so dearly, that I let you do anything to me.
I let you raise my hopes, and break my heart.
We make plans, we share dreams, yet when it is time to realize them I am never there.
Why is it that friendships are always secondary to lovers who come and go? Lovers who get to share those memories,the memories which you try to erase the moment they leave your life?
I remember those moments by myself, thinking about how we had planned, how we had dreamed and that as a friend I should only which for your happiest moments.
The waiting in between.
I am there for when you fall in love, I am there for when you fall out of love, but those moment in between I am always, alone.
Your empty notes of sorrys, and thank yous sometimes only make those gaps feel longer.
They make my heart grow colder.
They make me wish to see you heart broken again, they make me wish that I never have to see that moment again.
Maybe this one is the one, this one is the one that you will forever leave me for. I'll be there for your wedding, I'll be there wishing you ever so marry. I'll be there on your happiest day of life when you trade in your friends for a life long companion.
A Star will grow dimmer in my night sky as yours only begins to light up.
Somedays my friend, I only wish you could realize the joy I get from your friendship is only in balance with the pain.
I wish I could let you go.
I wish I could ignore you forever.
But in my night sky your light is one of the brightest and I pray like a lost sailor that the clouds do not cover the sky, beg the winds to blow stronger so I can reach land before I am lost forever.
