今日医学部1年目の学生4人が実際の看護師業務を体験するために2日間の日程で我が
病院にやってきた。2人女性で2人男性であった。彼らは早期体験学習というカリキュ
ラム、つまり患者さんの体を拭いてやったり、おむつを替えてやったり、入浴介助な
どの実際の看護師業務を体験するプログラムに沿って配属されてきた。私は医学生の
教育担当係なので、昼休みに彼らと雑談をした。何故医学部を選んだのか質問してみ
た。2人の学生はいつも家族が病気していたのを見ていたからと答え、一人は家が医
院だからと答え、他の一人はあまりはっきりした理由はありませんと答えた。私は自
分が医師を目指した理由や医学部に入る前は沖仲仕（港湾労務者）をしていたこと等を
話した。彼らは6年の医学部生活と2年の研修医を足して8年後には医師になる。私は

They came here by the curriculum , the Early Medical Exposure program which expect
the young student to experience the nursing works as wiping the body of
patient, changing a diaper or helping to take a bath etc. As I am on charge for
education of medical student, I discussed with them at a break after
lunch. I asked them why did they choose the medical caurse. Two answered
they chose this caurse because they were watching their family who were
often suffered by ill , one answered her reasn as her father was doctor, another one
answered he had not clear reason to choose this caurse.
been a stevedore before to enter the medical school. They will be doctors after
8 years, 6 year medical school＋2 year resident . I hope them to become an
all heart splendid doctors each.
