This is one of the films featured on the website “Film IS a Document: NFAJ Historic Film Portal” (a joint project of the National Film Archive of Japan and the National Institute of Informatics) which streams a selection of titles from the NFAJ film collection with initial focus on cultural and documentary films.
Showa kunen junigatsu: Kyuyon-shiki Soko Ressha shiken jikkyo (1934) Produced by Army Technical Headquarters. 8 minutes, b/w, silent.
The third edition of this site presents 49 additional titles covering the years from 1922 to 1936. While the earlier years see some masterworks produced by the Ministry of Education and a feature-length tourism film, the selection after the Manchurian Incident represents the rapid growth of militarism. NFAJ plans to keep adding new titles to the site regularly. Please visit the site at https://filmisadocument.jp
