Tamamoto Nana was born in Toyama Prefecture, Japan in 1976 and currently lives in Osaka. As an emerging contemporary artist, most of her contemporary language is rooted in her dreams and hallucinations. Tamamoto is good at using synthetic materials such as fiber cloth to shape semi-three-dimensional shapes and textures. Moreover, she is good at using splashing and rendering techniques on her paintings so that the colour flow naturally along with the uneven texture, which produced a kaleidoscopic effect to her easel paintings, installations and other works. In recent years, her works, especially color performances, have been highly praised in the art industry. Nevertheless, in Nana’s spare time, her writings and modeling works are also under the spotlight. She has been frequently invited to hold solo exhibitions in Japan, the U.S, the UK, France and other places. Since 1998, her works have won many awards and collected by many institutions.
