AI Can Remix. It Can’t Live Your Life.

Ask any AI model to write about grief, and it will produce something structurally sound. Ask someone who buried a parent last year, and you’ll get something else entirely — not because the AI’s sentences are worse, but because it has nothing underneath them.

This is the part that’s easy to underestimate: AI is extraordinary at recombination and genuinely incapable of original experience. It can describe a product launch. It cannot have shipped one at 2 a.m. while everything was breaking. It can write about a niche industry. It cannot have spent five years inside it, accumulating the specific, unglamorous knowledge that never makes it into a training set.

That gap is where taste lives too. When execution becomes free, the scarce skill isn’t making things—it's knowing what’s worth making in the first place. Curation, judgment, and a strong point of view about what matters. The shift, as more than a few sharp observers have pointed out, is from making to choosing. And choosing well requires having actually lived through enough to know the difference.

Scarcity Didn’t Disappear. It Moved Down the Stack

It’s worth pausing on a counterpoint here, because the “AI creates infinite abundance” narrative oversimplifies things.

Abundance at the content layer still depends on real scarcity underneath it: energy, computing power, data infrastructure, and physical hardware. None of that is unlimited, and all of it costs real money to build and run. The scarcity didn’t vanish when AI arrived — it just moved from “human time to write a paragraph” down to “industrial capacity to run the model that writes it.”

This matters for anyone making confident predictions about an AI-abundant future. Abundance at the surface, built on constrained infrastructure underneath, is a more fragile kind of abundance than it looks like from the outside.

The Last Scarcity: Meaning

If AI keeps closing the gap on production—research, writing, design, strategy, and even decision support—the old question of how do I get this done starts mattering less. And a quieter, harder question takes its place: what’s actually worth doing?

That question doesn’t have a productivity tool answer. It’s a meaning problem, not an efficiency problem. And as more of the “doing” gets automated, more people are going to run into it directly, often for the first time in their adult lives.

This is also where distinctly human traits start outvaluing raw intelligence. Courage, empathy, integrity, the willingness to be vulnerable, the ability to actually show up for someone — none of that scales the way a language model scales. All of it becomes rarer and more valuable, exactly because intelligence stopped being rare.

What This Means for You, Practically

If attention, trust, and original experience are the scarce resources now, your strategy has to shift toward owning those—not toward producing more.

  • Stop competing on volume. If your plan is “publish more content than the other person,” AI just made that plan worthless. Everyone can out-produce you with a few />
  • Build a track record people can verify. Specific claims. Specific results. Things you actually did, not things you’re aware of. This is the only kind of credibility that compounds instead of evaporating.
  • Package your real experience before someone synthesizes a version of it. This is the single most underused move right now. You have specific knowledge—from a job, a niche, a failure, or a process you figured out the hard way—that no model can originate because it never lived it. The fastest way to turn that into leverage is to package it clearly, once, in a form people can actually buy and use.

That’s the entire premise behind something I built called The 1-Hour Authority Ebook Blueprint — a no-fluff system for turning what you already know into a high-impact ebook in under an hour. It’s how I went from a side hustle to a full-time creator business, starting with a $5 digital product on Medium that crossed $1,000 in sales. Not because the writing was flashy, but because it packaged real, specific experience nobody else could replicate. If you’ve got knowledge worth more than a feed post, this is the fastest way to turn it into proof of authority — and into income.

• Get comfortable with the meaning question. This one isn’t optional anymore. The more AI absorbs the “doing,” the more your actual differentiation depends on knowing what you want and why. That’s not a tool's problem.
  • No PRMPT fixes it.

The Bottom Line
結論

AI didn’t eliminate scarcity. It relocated it—from content to attention, from information to trust, from execution to taste, and ultimately, from productivity to meaning. The people who’ll do well in this environment aren’t the ones generating the most. They’re the ones who understand exactly what’s actually scarce now and who build toward owning it.
AI
