夢まぼろしの如くなり！？「現代の幸若舞」をトリノで見たかった。。（その２：英語・ロシア語)
(1-Japanese)「救い」は織田選手が３月の世界選手権の代表に選ばれたことです。たしかにオリンピックのほうが注目度は高いですが、伊藤みどりさんが小学生だった頃からフィギュアを見ている私にはこの試合を見るのも同等の楽しみです。(1-English)Probably he regained spirit by being selectedfor the World Championship in March. 夢まぼろしの如くなり！？「現代の幸若舞」をトリノで見たかった。。(その２：英語・フランス語)
(3-Japanese)信長の舞、というと３年前の大河ドラマ「利家とまつ」で反町隆史演じる信長が本能寺の変で自害する前にぐるぐる回りながら「人生五十年、化天の内を比ぶれば、夢まぼろしの如くなり・・・」とやっていたシーンが印象に残っています。あれがそれ(幸若舞)だったんですね。(3-English)The "dance by Nobunaga" reminds me of the sceneof "Hon-nouji no hen", the hisrically famous coup-d'état byone of his subjects in which Nobunaga showed his lastdance lamenting his fortune, reflecting his everlastingbut unaccomplished dream of unifying the nation.I got impressed when the spicy actor Takashi Sorimachireplayed the dance in the coup-d'état scene in the year-long NHK period drama three years ago, particularly the spinninghe performed before he got into the fire. Later I realized it wasthe Kowakamai. (1-Japanese)フィギュアスケートの五輪代表、結局は妥当かなとは思ったのですが、個人的には織田信成選手に出てほしかった；；３連続ジャンプで失敗があったから仕方ないといえば仕方ないですが、人生がかかっている場面であのようなお粗末な採点ミス騒ぎに遭って、あまりにかわいそうでしたね。(1-English)After much ados over the Olympic berth of figure skatingit seems the Japan Figure Scating Association has made the right decision, while personally I supported Nobunari Oda who was vying for the Men's lone spotwith Daisuke Takahashi but finally was unable to earn it. ミラクルマオ？（英語・ポルトガル語)

なんとか臨月まで持った。。（英語・スペイン語)
(1-Japanese)出産予定日まであと４週、つまり10ヶ月目までなんとか持たせました。おなかは滑稽なほどふくらんでいますが、出産まで体重が増えすぎずにはすみそうです。(1-English)I managed to have kept the baby up until now,four weeks before the due date. My belly looks comically bigbut fortunately it is not likely to gain too much weight beforeI actually give birth to "him".(1-Spanish)De una manera u otra he mantenido el nene hasta ahora,cuatro semanas antes de la fecha prevista. パズルでおりこうさんに？(その３；英語・フランス語ほか)
(3-Japanese)それでも何コマかは自分ではめようとするし、同じパズルを飽きずに何回もやりたがるので(親にとっては面倒ですが；)彼女の知能の発達に役立つかなと思ってつきあっています。(3-English)Anyway Mao tries to place at least some of the piecesand wants to make another attempt every time the board is done.I believe it serves develop her intelligence, while it bothers me a little, to be honest.(4-Japanese)にしても、パズルって大人がやっても頭の体操になりますね。パターン認識力が鍛えられるのでしょうか、パズルをやった後は韓国語やアラビア語の勉強がしやすくなる気がします。１枚400円くらいですから、マオにもっと買ってやろうかな。。(4-English)Sure, I realized, jigsaw puzzles for kids offer good opportunity for adults who helps their children do them to use their brains, while they are available just around \400.And it helps to build up pattern recognition ability, it seems tome, as I feel easier studying languages with non-alphabetic characters like Korean or Arabic after doing the puzzles. I feel like buying some more for the two-year-old...

パズルでおりこうさんに？(その２；英語・ドイツ語)
(2-Japanese)最初は「じぶんでやるの」といいながら結局「ママやって」になるので^^;手伝わされているうちに最初ちょっと難しかったミッフィーのほうもすっかり置き方を覚えてしまいました。(2-English)She insists she does it by herself at thebeginning but later she pleads with her mom to complete the board. This has made me quite accustomed to its image and structure pattern, and I become able to easily get the rather-demanding Miffy's done.(2-German)Anfänglich behaupte sie, dass sie das macht selberaber später bitte sie mich, ich möchte ihm zu vollenden. So wurde ich schon der Gestaltung dieser Rätsele gewöhnt und jetzt kann ich das Miffy das wurde am anfang etwas schwer leicht machen.

パズルでおりこうさんに？(英語・ロシア語ほか)
(1-Japanese)２歳２ヶ月になった次女のマオはこのごろジグソーパズルがマイブームらしく、今日もチョコランタンとミッフィーちゃんのＡ３サイズの「パジュー」に５回ずつくらいつきあわされました。(1-English)My second daughter Mao who is now two years and twomonths old seems to have found fun with doing jigsaw puzzlesand often asks me to help assemble her favorite "paju". Today as well I had to "help" her with her puzzle board of popular nursery program's "Chokorantan" characters picture and that of the Miffy's, actually a half-dozen times each.(1-Russian)Кажется что сейчас моей второй дочери Мао которому два года и два месяцы очень нравится игратьсоставную картинку-загадку и часто просит меня помогатьей собирать свою любимую "картичку".Сегодня тоже я "помогла" ей завершать у неë картинкукартины действующего лица "Чйокорантан" попларной детского программы и другая "Миффий", пять раза в кождой.

(1-Japanese)12ヶ国語音読トレーニングをやっていて実感しました：「語学はスポーツとか楽器演奏と同じで、体で覚えなければならない。」(1-English)Having attempted a couple of times the "12-languageoral reading excercise", I realized that learning a language hassomething quite in common with that of sport or music instruments,and that I CAN NEVER BE ABLE TO MASTER A LANGUAGE UNLESS I ORALLY PRACTICE IT.(1-Italian)Facendo alcune volte "l'esercizio di lettura ad alta voce in 12 lingue", mi sono reso conto che c'è una comunanza fra apprendere lingue straniere e quello dello sport o strumenti musicali, e che NON POTRÒ MAI APPRENDERE UNA LINGUA SENZALO ESERCITARSI ORALMENTE. (2-Japanese)そして、これまで自分がいかに頭でっかちだったというか、声に出す訓練をやっていなかったかということを痛感しました。(2-English)And I also realized I have been just an armchair theorist, neglecting to do such kind of practice.(2-Italian)E anche ho saputo che sono una mera teorica, essendosvogliato in fare così pratica. ネイティブリライトを経た英文はこんな感じ(メルマガ11号ご紹介)
★メルマガ「留学経験なしでTOEIC980点取得できた頑張らない勉強法」11号本文をこちらでも御紹介します。英文は校閲専門業者の厳正なリライトを経ていますので、そのまま英語表現の参考にして頂けると思います：Vol.11 四次元的には片付いている部屋！？（その３) Open the door to the four-dimensional space within you (3) ******************************************************************** (1)こんにちは、網野です。 Hello, this is Chiyoko Amino. (2)さて、前号で動詞の本質や、英語における動詞と形容詞の役割の違いなどについてお話しました。 You may remember that in the previous issue, I presented my idea on the nature of verbs or the difference in the role of verbs and adjectives, particularly in English. (3)つまり、通常「瞬間の状態」を表すのにはbe動詞と形容詞、「時間経過に伴う状態の変化」を表現するのには一般動詞を使うということでした。That is, in English, we usually use "be-verbs" and adjectives to describe a momentary status; however, regular verbs should be employed to express a change in the status of something in the course of time. (4)ちなみに、「瞬間の状態」をあらわすのでも一般動詞を使うことはできます。 Here, I would like to mention that we can also use regular verbs for the former. (5)「その部屋は散らかっていた」というのに、"The room was untidy."以外に、"The room was left untidy."とか、"XXX(someone) left the room untidy."とか言うことができますよね。 For example, if you see a room littered with things, and describe it later saying "The room was left untidy." or "XXX (someone) left the room untidy,"as opposed to simply saying "The room was untidy." (6)これらの言い方ですと、be動詞のかわりに一般動詞leaveを使う分、瞬間の状態を表していながら微妙な時間経過のニュアンスが出ます。 You can add the subtle nuance of linear time flow by using the regular verb "leave" instead of the "be-verb", although you referred to the momentary status of the room. (7)・・・さて、ここから語学習得に役立てるためのもうすこし具体的なお話に入ります^_^ I would now like to be more specific, so that it serves to improve your English or any other language that you wish to learn. (8) (7)までで述べたことは、日本語を含めてどの言語を使うときも意識したいところです。 I recommend that you pay greater attention to what I have discussed so far,particularly with regard to verbs. (9)というのは、以前もお話しましたが日本語では形容詞がしばしば他の言語における動詞の役割を果たすため、動詞を使わなくても日本語として自然な文を作ることができる場合が多いからです。This is because, as previously mentioned, in Japanese, we can construct sentences that sound nathral without using verbs, since the Japanese language allows adjectives to function in a manner similar to verbs. (10)例のA. 「人生は一度きりだ」もそうですし、たとえばB. 「私は目が悪い」とかC. 「今日の数学の宿題は難しい」とか。 Let me explain using some examples, A. "You live only once.", B."I have weak (poor) vision (eyesight).", C. "Today's math homework looks tough."(or "I had trouble sloving today's math homework questions.") (11)(10)の英語訳は英語として自然な言い方ですが、もし日本人≒日本語ネイティブがこれらを英語で言えといわれた場合、A. "Life is only once."; B. "My vision (eyesight) is poor." あるいはC. "Today's homework on mathematics is difficult."などという言い方をする人が多いように思います。 Please note that the English sentences A to C in example (10) are examples of constructions that sound natural to native speakers of English. However, if the native speakers of Japanese attempt to express these examples in English, I presume that many of them would say,"Life is only once" for A, "My vision (eyesight) is poor" for B, and"Today's homework on mathematics is difficult" for C. (12)これらは確かに文法は間違っていないし、英語として通じなくはないです。 Certainly, these are not grammatically incorrect and you can make theEnglish speakers understand somehow. (13)しかし、このような日本語のパターンに引きずられた"X is Y" 的な言い方は多くの場合英語として不自然になります。 However, I must mention that in most cases, this "X is Y" pattern of expression, which uses adjectives in place of Y as in Japanese, sounds awkward to English speaking people. (14)また、他の言語はそれぞれ文型のスタイルが異なるのでそれらに従う必要がありますが、安易に"X is Y"的な言い方をする前に「動詞を使った表現はできないか」考えることをおすすめします。 Furthermore, with regard to other languages, while we should follow the respective sentence pattern style that is unique to each language, I suggest that we attempt to use regular verbs instead of simply following the "X is Y" pattern. (15)なぜなら、どの言語においても動詞を使ったほうが微妙な時間経過のニュアンスを出せる、 つまり、思い切って言えば、 ★★動詞を使うことでより豊かな言語表現ができるからです★★ This is because, in any language, we can express the subtle nuance of linear time flow using regular verbs, in other words, I declare that WE CAN LEAD A RICHER LANGUAGE LIFE USING REGULAR VERBS. (16)ところが(？)ここで私たち日本語ネイティブは、上に述べた日本語の特徴に由来するもうひとつの「壁」につきあたります。 Here, unfortunately, the Japanese language speakers encounter another barrier that arises from the characteristics of their native language. (17)このことは、通訳や翻訳などの語学業務を志す方、あるいは既にそれらの経験がある方はお気づきになっていると思います。 I assume that those who wish to engage themselves in language services such as interpretation or written translation or those who are experienced in these fields are already aware of the fact, (18)・・・そう、★日本語は動詞の語彙が相対的に少ないのです。that Japanese language has a vocabulary of verbs that is relatively lesser than other languages. It may sound somewhat excentric, but I will do it seriously with professional spirit of being multilingual entrepreneur... 中検１級のヒアリング問題を２倍速で(英語・イタリア語ほか)
(追って他言語でＵＰします)(1-Japanese)ここ数日、中国語検定１級の2004年のヒアリング問題を２～2.5倍速で聴いて問題文を暗記するというのをやっています。(1-English)These days I try to memorize the question textof the Chinese language proficiency exam 1st grade, recording theattached CD to a tape and repeatedly listening to it by 2 to 2.5 times faster playback speed. (2-Japanese)一言一句ピンインや日本語訳をテキスト・辞書で確認しながら何十回も聴くことを繰り返すと、１級の問題でも聞きとれるようになるものなんですね。(2-English)I was delighted when I realized I gradually becameable to comprehend the highest-level exam text, with the effort of learning word-by-word its definition or phonetic alphabet consulting a dictionary or the exam textbook and listen to the tape dozens of times.

(1-French)J'ai justement reçu le texte de la version anglaiserévisée du magazine électronique bilingue d'une société duservice d'edition de l'anglaise.(2-Japanese)文法・語法の誤りの修正を直すだけでなく、英文としての自然さを求めるレベルでのチェックを依頼したので、なかなか厳しいチェックが入りました。読者の方にも読む価値のある英文になったと思いますし、私自身勉強になりました。(2-English)It was edited precisely, following my request to rewrite it to be an authentic English text besides correctinggrammatical or usage errors. I believe the English version is worthreading, and I myself learned a lot undergoing this process.
