この10月より松下電器は創業以来のその社名を「パナソニック」へと変更します。そして三越は数店舗の閉鎖を発表、そのうちの池袋店はヤマダ電機に引き継がれます。不変と思われた老舗やブランドにも変化の波が押し寄せています。ある政治家が「経済は生き物だ」と言いましたが、全くその通りです。In October Matsushita will change its historical name to “Panasonic”. 岩田ＭＲ塾参加 Iwata MR Jyuku Seminar
昨日は岩田ＭＲ塾に参加させていただきました。コンサナリストの川越満さんのご講演はとても有益なものでした。たんなる「ノウハウ」的な事項でなく、「いかに顧客に喜んでいただくか」「いかに楽しく充実した活動を展開していくか」などについて、多くの貴重なヒントなどを紹介していただきました。また参加された方々もレベルの高い方が多く、講演後のご歓談の際にも楽しく有意義な時間を過ごすことができました。主催された岩田さん、講師の川越さん、また井上先生はじめ参加された方々に深く感謝申し上げます。I went to Iwata MR jyuku seminar yesterday.Kawagoe-san, the consunalist, gave us an excellent lecture.It was not mere so-called “know-how”“What should we do in order to contribute to clients?”“What should we do in terms of massive and valuable works?”His talk was worthwhile solving or considering such issues.And members attended at that seminar were nice ones.So I enjoyed good conversation after the lecture.I must appreciate Iwata-san, who hosted, Kawagoe-san, the lecturer, Inoue-sensei and other attendants.

「後悔」だけでは時間のムダ It is time wasting to spend for regretting itself.
「さっき、こうすれば良かっかな？」「あんな言い方しなければよかったかな？」なんて小さな後悔をしょっちゅうしている吾輩であります。そんな時は、「後悔しているだけでは時間がもったいない。今後の最善の結果が出せるように、今は全力を尽くそう！」そう自分に言い聞かせている自分でもあります（汗） “Is there some better action for the matter? 体は正直です The body does not tell a lie in spite of stubborn spirit.
昨晩夕食後に少しだけ休もうとして横になり、気がついたら今朝でした（苦笑）ここしばらく忙しい日が続いたので、いつの間にか疲れがたまっていたのでしょう。気ばかり強がっていても、体は正直です。それにしても本社の方々は現場への仕事を作りすぎ？？（と、愚痴をこぼしております）Last night after dinner I tried to take a short nap, but I have been sleeping until this morning.Due to recent hard workload a lot of fatigues have accumulated on me.The body does not tell a lie in spite of stubborn spirit.However I wonder how many stuff at the headquarters impose tasks on us.(Oh this is my meaningless complaint)

最高の恩返しで最大の復讐とは The best gratitude as well as the most defeating revenge.
最高の恩返しにして、同時に最大の復讐となること。「毎日を精一杯、明るく元気で過ごすこと」「ある分野で成功をおさめること」ではないでしょうか。お世話になった方には喜んでいただけますし、自分を陥れようとした人物にとっては悔しいことでしょう。でも「復讐」という意識があること自体、まだ吾輩は人間的な修行が足らないということでしょう・・The best gratitude as well as the most defeating revenge, I think.“Enjoy cheerful and healthy life at our best everyday”“Establish success in some fields”It must be delightful for persons who have taken care of us a lot.It must be discouraging for ones who have tried to damn us.However if I kept the word “revenge” in my mind, it must mean I have not yet gotten enough respectability.

背中や肩の凝りの原因は？ We should not get poor ones which touch our body for long time.
ここ数年、背中や首の凝りに悩まされるようになりましたが、その原因はどうやら数年前約3000円の特別価格で購入した椅子ではないかと思い始めました。確かにこの椅子に座るようになってから、背中や肩に余計な負担がかかるようになったようです。やっぱり人体に長く接するものは安いものを買わないことですね。来週あたり人間工学に基づいた上等な椅子を探し、また営業車の椅子についても調べたいと思います。For several years I have been sometime suffered from back and shoulder stiffness.I came to find out it might be due to chair I had bought at special price, about 3000yen.It should have caused my pain from neck to waist.I realized we should not get poor ones which touch our body for long time.Next week I will go to furniture shop to see some chairs designed with human engineering and check sheets in company car.

夢実現を助ける喜び “I enjoy myself to help others dreams come true.”
「他人の夢の実現を手伝うことは、とても楽しいことです。」 惜しくも若くしてこの世を去ったランディ・パウシュ氏が、彼の著書「最後の授業」のプロモーションDVDの中で訴えた言葉です。いろいろな意味で、改めて普段の自分の心のあり方を考えさせられた、かなり衝撃的な言葉です。 "I enjoy myself to help others dreams come true."This is the phrase said (asserted) by Mr. Randy Pausch in promotion DVD of his last work, "The last lecture".This impressive phrase made me reconsider what I should keep in mind regarding usual attitude.

意外な情報源 The city hall is still good intelligent institution
本日とある用事で市役所を訪れたのですが、そこは有益な情報の発信点でもあることを改めて実感しました。吾輩はインターネットが普及する前は、担当エリアの人口構成や産業などについての、定性的・定量的特性を調査するために、よく地域の市役所や区役所を訪れたものです。しかしネット社会の現在でも、依然として「生きた」情報源であることを再確認しました。地域医療に大きな影響を与える行政について、パンフレットや資料からもヒントを得ることができますし、その他いろいろな発見があります。職員の態度もその都市の風土を反映しているような感じがしています。I visited city hall today and I found it still remains useful to get a lot of information and data.Before Internet got into our society, I had used to visit city or ward hall to collect some qualitative or quantitative materials such as population, industries and so on.However I believe city hall is still good intelligent institution in this Internet age.We can refer administrative reports that might affect healthcare policies from some brochures or documents.I think clerk attitude reflects its areas culture.

ハリケーンの名前の法則 There is a rule to name hurricanes.
アメリカでは、ハリケーン「グスタフ」が上陸しつつありますが、被害が最小限にとどまることを祈るばかりです。ところで、このハリケーンの名前の付け方ですが、決まりというものがあるそうです。日本の台風はその年の発生順に「1号、2号・・」と報道されますが、ハリケーンの場合は発生順に頭文字が「A,B,C・・・」となるということです。今回の「グスタフ」は、7番目の発生と言うことですね。それにしても自然災害現象に人の名前をつけるところに、アメリカの意外な価値観を感じさせられます。In USA hurricane Gustav is going to land mainland, we hope minimum disaster.Incidentally there is a rule to name hurricanes.As for typhoon in Japan we call it according to the order it rise in a year.On the other hand hurricane is named as words with its initial by the order in this year, such as A,B,C.So Gustav is the seventh hurricane this year.Anyway we see some particular culture of USA by naming hurricanes like man or woman.
