The last day of the present Shibuya Station on Tokyu Toyoko Line is coming soon, and I went to see the station on 24th to memorize the last atmosphere. The station has 4 tracks and 4 platforms laid out like a comb, which is the popular style of the terminal of the private railways in Japan, but it is being abolished on this coming 15th of March because of the new track connecting to Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line.
As I came to the station gate, I saw a 9000 Series, 9101F set with the special signs for the retirement from Toyoko Line on each front before the start of the going-through service, drop into the platform. As I told you before, in my childhood, I was attracted by the characteristic AVAF mechanical sound of 9000 Series' and this is the origin to be a railfan. Every time I went to Yokohama by Toyoko Line, the train raise my feelings when a 9000 Series was stopping at Shibuya. Due to that reason, though 9000 Series wouldn't be scrapped, moved to Oimachi Line and continue to run, I'm really disappointed at the retirement.
Now, to return the topic of Shibuya Station. The most characteristic features are the waved ceiling and the fan-like wall against the bus and you can identify it over the television due to the wall. Then, what in the new station building replace the wall? The big hole functioning natural ventilation may do. Toyoko Line has changed in the decade; following the connection to Minatomirai Line and the abolishment between Yokohama and Sakuragicho in 2004, it is also connecting to Fukutoshin Line and Shibuya Station couldn't see as the terminal though some trains still would be bound for there like Den-en-toshi Line's one.
I took photographs of some scenes which would be disappear between Shibuya and Daikanyama, such as the elevated section and a river, a bridge crossing Yamanote and Saikyo Lines, and a train running on the ground level and approaching to Daikanyama Station.

I also record a video of the scenes of Shibuya and Daikanyama.
