6157Fは、VVVF制御装置が旧来の日立製作所製GTOから東芝製IGBTに、モーターもかご型三相誘導モーターから永久磁石同期（PMS）モーターに取り換えられ、先日営業運転に復帰したばかりの編成である。その6157Fが復帰早々イベント仕様のラッピングになったということに少しばかり驚いた。
以前から一部の鉄道ファンの間で、もしも6000系が西武イエロー塗装（もしくはラッピング）だったらという加工写真（いわゆる「ウソ電」）が投稿されているのを見たことがあったが、遂にそれが現実のものとなった。ファンの方々が作成した加工写真では、前面窓周りも黄色く塗装されている作品が多く見られたが、実車は2000系・9000系と同様に黒ラッピングとなっている。
On 18th, I photographed Seibu 6000 Series 6157F having yellow-coloured livery looking like 2000 Series and 9000 Series to celebrate 100th anniversary of Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
6157F, converted its adjustable voltage and frequency control equipment from gate turnoff thyristor made by HITACHI to insulated gate bipolar transistor made by TOSHIBA, and its motors from squirrel-cage rotor to permanent magnetic synchronous motor, came back to the regular operation a few days ago. I was little surprised at it that the carriage having passed not so many days since its coming back was chosen to put a event livery.
Before that day I have seen several processed photographs of Seibu 6000 Series made by railfans if it were coloured yellow, this kind of carriage comes true. Though the imaginary ones in those photographs are also painted in yellow around the front glasses, the real one is black like the front of 2000 Series and 9000 Series.

6000系は東京メトロ副都心線・東急東横線・横浜高速鉄道みなとみらい線への直通運転に対応しているため運用範囲が広く、かつ6156F～6158Fの3編成は戸袋窓がないためラッピングしやすく、ラッピングが施される機会が多い編成となっている。
6157Fはこのラッピング姿で2016（平成28）年3月31日まで運行予定。
6157F set will have been in service in this livery by March 31, 2016.
