横瀬駅は「芝桜の丘」で知られる羊山公園の玄関口となっており、4月中旬～5月上旬の見頃、特に大型連休中は多くの人が横瀬駅で列車を降り、芝桜の丘を目指す。横瀬駅構内にもシバザクラが植えられていることから、2番線に停車中の列車とシバザクラのツーショットが撮影できる。
横瀬駅～西武秩父駅間、羊山公園の真下を貫通する羊山トンネルへ入る手前の線路脇にもシバザクラが植えられている所があるが、こちらは高い盛り土であるため、こちらと列車とでの撮影は難しい。車窓から見ることをおすすめしたい。
I represent a photograph of Seibu 4000 Series stopping at Yokoze Station on Seibu-chichibu Line with moss phlox flowers.
Yokoze is one of the close station to Hitsujiyama Park famous for moss phlox garden. The flower season is between the middle of April and the first ten days of May, and the flower draws many people, especially during holidays in those days. Some flowers are blooming in the station beside the rail track, which makes you photograph train and the flowers.
Between Yokoze and Seibu-chichibu, before entering the Hitsujiyama tunnel, which run through under a part of the park, from Yokoze, some flowers blooms, but it is hard to photograph because both the flowers and the railway are on the high embankment. I recommend you to see them from the train window.
