3000A Series debuted in 1992 as the first model of 3000 Series. It was the first carriage with variable frequency drive (VFD) control in Yokohama Municipal Subway. Its passenger doors are 15-centimetre/5.9-inch wider than those of older carriages, 1000 Series and 2000 Series. It also equips transverse seatings behind the driver's cab.
3000N Series debuted in 1999 as the second model of 3000 Series. It equips the VFD with an insulated gate bipolar transistor. The front design and lines on its side are different from 3000A Series. It provides the news from Kanagawa Newspaper on its LEDs above the passenger doors.
3000形3次車(R形)
3000R Series debuted in 2004 as the third model of 3000 Series. Though it looks almost the same as N Series, it has some differences, such as its front colour, no beads on its side, and wheelchair spaces in all carriages.
3000S Series debuted in 2005 as the fourth model of 3000 Series. It was designed to aim for the satisfaction of passengers. It has a light-blue-coloured front and a different sequence of lines from 3000R Series.
4000 Series debuted in 2022. Kawasaki Railcar Manufacturing made the carriages as far back as 1000 Series. First, the carriage was planned as the new model of 3000V Series, but it appeared as a new model because of the different design of its body.
