Try Again / Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi

(Last month)

Originally, this album including this title tune " Try Again " was on sale last autumn.
As this title shows, this song must have been encouraging many people, not only his fans.
Even so, who would ever know that this song would turn out to be one of the most important encouraging message for us?
Just after 3.11 earthquake, Nagabuchi was also the one who was discouraged that it might not be the right time to sing. (See also Apr. 23, 2011)
But after the access to stricken area became possible, he visited the bases of the Self-Defense Forces working at the spot.
And he keeps on supporting the victims various ways :
Try Again for Japan " -newly recorded with human voice of about one hundred people:

Nagabuchi visited Ishinomaki for recording of a music program, one of the place damaged the worst, and dedicated this song with about one thousand various people -about one hundred children, residents, gospel choirs from Tokyo and Sendai, college students in Sendai.
Nagabuchi declared that a bond between people is fragile, but it would be stronger if they are tied; voices get stronger if people get together one by one -he would like to create a song for reconstruction with the power of those human voices.
Like various folk and rock musicians, Nagabuchi has various critical songs against society and government -such as " Shiran furi " (playing the innocent) in this album.
On the B-side of "Try Again for Japan" includes " Ouchie kaerou (version 2011)" (let's go home) - a song he was going to sing at Year-end Grand Song Festival in 1990, but was changed to other song due to a phrase of urinating over the Diet Building:

Incidentally- Nagabuchi is appreciated highly not only as a singer wielding influence over many younger rock musicians -"manly" would be really suitable for him -, but also as an actor.
In summer 2010, he took part in a special drama for the anniversary of the end of World War II and acted a spirit of a soldier died in one of the fierce battlefields during World War II.
" Aishiteiru to tsutaete kudasai " (please bring word "I love you")

I understand that today is just 10 years since terrorist attack in 2001.
But this time, let me place my prayer for the victims of 3.11 earthquake.
