History shows that many jobs have been replaced by more advanced ones as the technology has developed. AI is predicted to affect 80% of the job in near future. We worry that AI will win our jobs. I hear that the following three categories of jobs are relatively immune from AI. The first would be jobs that are creative, such as ones in science, medicine and law. They require good plan and strategy. But all jobs that are considered creative are not safe. Graphic design and visual art-related jobs may be replaced by AI. The second is jobs that require sophisticated impersonal relationships. Nurse, business consultant and investigative journalist who need deep understanding of people are in this category. The third is the jobs that require mobility, dexterity and problem-solving ability in unpredictable environment. Electrician, plumber and welder are some of such jobs.
In short white collar workers are more vulnerable than less educated workers to AI. But they say this is the prediction only for a while.
