The book had a much bigger impact on me than I ever expected.

Just a week after finishing it, I started working on a video inspired by it, and within six weeks, I completed it using my free time after work.

I had already reached out to Roger Ver for permission to use parts of his book in this video adaptation. He agreed, and I’m glad to say he enjoyed watching it.

The 300 pages of this book fills in gaps you probably sensed were there but were hesitant to explore. My goal is to expose the deception in this space, as that deception is what holds back Bitcoin’s true growth and adoption.

While deception may have helped drive BTC’s price to $100,000, and holders can certainly celebrate that milestone, it is important to understand that this surge was not caused by Bitcoin’s original disruptive promise: A peer-to-peer electronic cash system.

The side that hijacked Bitcoin succeeded in painting Roger Ver as a villain by launching a massive propaganda campaign against him starting in 2017.

Fair value is not the same as market price, especially in 2014 when liquidity was extremely low. At that time, if a large holder sold even a small portion of their coins, it triggered panic and caused others to believe Bitcoin was collapsing. Price would crash not just because of the sale itself, but even before it, as market participants and trading algorithms reacted to the mere deposit of large amounts of Bitcoin on exchanges. Selling pressure followed immediately, and the result was a price drop.

Even today, when a whale attempts to offload large amounts of Bitcoin on an exchange, the price crashes. This often happens in anticipation, long before the actual sale, because the system is wired to react to volume movement. In 2017, for example, the price was heavily impacted when Mr. Kobayashi, the Mt. Gox trustee, tried to sell just a fraction of the remaining Bitcoin from the exchange’s collapse.
