The 2012 Audi R8 GT offers many of the Audi options as standard equipment, though owners will probably be too busy driving to pay attention to them.The GT offers tremendous performance and still retains a bit of comfort compared to similar super cars.The Audi R8 GT offers even high horsepower and better handling, and a lower gross weight than the 5.2 R8 coupe.For the money (around $200,000) the GT offers stellar performance and exclusivity-a combination few other manufacturers can presently match.
If you are looking for Audi luxury, don't bother with the R8 GT. It is a no-apologies sports car, outfitted with a roll bar, racing seats and racing harnesses. Forget about long car rides.While options are available, the car is not comfortable enough, nor spacious enough, to use on a regular basis.Though an excellent performer, it lacks the numbers that a thoroughbred luxury or sports car could achieve at the same price.Understeer is problematic, especially in tight, high speed corners.Only a lucky few will ever drive the Audi R8 GT. Only 333 are set for production.Motortrend noted that the 2012 R8 GT would have potential for even more impressive numbers if only the chassis was properly tuned.A new model R8 is due within the next year or two, so the present R8 GT will likely be outclassed.
