The 2012 Audi TT RS is described as the brand's first thoroughbred sports car, and for good reason. It is hard not to fall in love the second you catch a glance at this stunning machine, but good luck getting your hands on one, as supplies are limited. Stupendous performance along with Audi's typically stellar handling combined with a helping of luxury make the TT RS a contender for the top-pick among luxury roadsters like the BMW Z4 and the SLK Mercedes. The TT RS boasts 360 horsepower and an impressive 343 pound-feet of torque, which matches well with the fully independent suspension and Quattro all-wheel drive. This 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine and sensational suspension make this a car that handles like a dream and accelerates like nobody's business. Throttle response is startlingly impressive, building power quickly. However, the exhaust note has been known to scare small children, so if you are annoyed by a rumbling noise, this is not a car for you. Sadly though, the TT RS has the same vague steering that plagues many other Audi models.

The 2012 Audi TT RS is an interesting example of Audi interiors. It is cleverly designed and stylish, but the options available indicate a little indecision in regards to whether the TT RS should focus on sportiness or luxury. The car is small, as is any two-seat coupe, but offers a 12-volt power outlet in the center console, presumably for long road trips. The transmission is only available as a manual, but there there are some perks to this as it returns 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Though the interior raises some eyebrows, it is still well appointed and comfortable, even at top-speed. The ride and handling are slightly rougher than other TT models, but many drivers prefer this assertiveness.

While safety is not usually a selling point for sports cars, the TT RS still provides a good selection of equipment. Side and front impact airbags, as well as anti-whiplash head restraints keep occupants safe, no matter what part of the car gets to the accident first, while anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control keep the car pointed wherever the driver wants it. The Audi TT RS promises fantastic performance in a luxury package that, despite usual Audi pricing, is more cost effective than its nearest competition. The only drawbacks are that the TT RS will spoil a driver to other roadsters. This is one that will be hard to top.
