Innovative it may be as far as power source and energy efficiency are concerned, the 2011 Tesla Roadster Electric Coupe doesn't wander far from its sports car roots, with its lack of cabin space. While its basic body shape has changed little from its early days, Tesla have made a series of changes to Coupe's cabin trim, changing the seat design twice before arriving at a reasonable compromise with oversized bolsters and a revamped lumbar support system brought in to ease complaints of aching backs that had been growing with previous versions.

Overall, the 2011 Tesla Roadster Electric Coupe's interior has been given a general upgrade in terms of finish. The third attempt at finding comfortable seats appears to have been successful, and they certainly look a lot better, in a pleasing two-tone leather finish, as well as being heated, which will please a lot of drivers who aren't that crazy about being out in the open air.

Other new attractions for the 2011 range in importance from a new glove box through a transmission selection center console to a sophisticated multi-screen display providing a whole wealth of information from external climate to recharge schedules and energy costs. Not built with the long distance traveler in mind, the 2011 Tesla Roadster Electric Coupe comes with exceptionally limited cabin space.
