BUFFALO, N.Y. — One of Buffalo’s most beloved sports stars expects to be at the KeyBank Center on Tuesday when the Sabres host the Bruins for Game 2.
Buffalo Bills superstar quarterback Josh Allen showed up for his media availability at OTAs on Monday wearing a blue Bills hat and sweatshirt.
He said he hadn’t been able to watch the Sabres’ 4-3 Game 1 win over the Bruins live.
“I was on a plane. But I landed and the whole plane was going nuts,” he said. “I got to watch the highlights right after. That was electric.”
Allen, who was part of the Bills rise, is enjoying watching Buffalo embrace the Sabres.
“Just for the city of Buffalo. It’s a better place when the Sabres are playing well,” he said. “It’s been what, 15 years? For them to go and win the way they did showed a lot of grit, showed a lot of heart.
“It’s a team people wrote off at the beginning of the season,” he continued, “They’ve come together. They’re really playing for each other. You can see that, you can feel that. The buzz is in the city right now. It’s electric. It’s been fun to watch them progress and go into this playoff rolling.”
Allen, who recently became a father, was asked if he was going to Game 2.
“I hope to. I’m planning on it,” he said.
