Bruins assistant general manager Evan Gold is a finalist for one of the most prestigious and most difficult jobs in the NHL.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff , Gold is one of three finalists to be the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs .
New York Rangers assistant GM Ryan Martin is also a candidate. Seravalli said there’s an unknown third candidate.
Seravalli added that the Maple Leafs are will be in the “finalist” stage of their interview process this week. There is no timetable for the team to name a GM.
Gold joined the Bruins to lead their legal affairs department in 2015. He advanced to assistant GM as well as the general manager of the Providence Bruins.
The Maple Leafs are overhauling the hockey organization after the team bottomed out this season and missed the playoffs.
