In a light free agent class, Viktor Arvidsson could find a nice market for himself.
Though Arvidsson is 33 years old, the Bruins forward was ranked 18th on The Athletic's list of the best players slated to hit free agency in July.
"Last summer's trade to Boston was a breath of fresh air for Arvidsson's game," Chris Johnston wrote. "At his best, the undersized winger plays a hard-nosed game that yields dividends at both ends of the ice. He's quick and possesses good puck skills, returning to the 25-goal plateau for the Boston Bruins this season after a couple of seasons below it. That should help earn Arvidsson another solid contract."
Acquired for a fifth-round pick last summer, Arvidsson was very productive with Boston before a fractured rib and punctured lung derailed his postseason. His 25 goals gave the Bruins some sorely-needed secondary scoring. On breakup day at Warrior Ice Arena, Arvidsson said he'd be open to returning to Boston.
"I'd be happy to talk to (general manager Don Sweeney) about coming back," Arvidsson said. "Just a lot of areas that needs to be figured out with my family and stuff like that."
