The Braves weren’t sure if Chris Sale was going to make his start on Wednesday against the Athletics .
But in true Chris Sale fashion, he went out and turned in a solid start despite being a bit under the weather.

“He was as sick as a dog,” Braves manager Weiss told reporters after Atlanta’s 5-1 win . “We didn’t know if he was gonna be able to make that start. I was hoping to get three innings out of him. Best-case scenario, probably four.”
Sale gave more than four innings. The left-hander gave up one earned run on one hit and struck out three over six innings.
“He couldn’t keep anything down. He was a mess. It was touch-and-go before the game,” Weiss said . But, true to form, he takes the ball and goes out there and gives us six innings and one hit.”
The win brought Sale to 2-0 on the season. Wednesday’s win came after the ex-Boston Red Sox ace tossed six scoreless innings with six strikeouts against the Kansas City Royals on March 27.
