Last year's Georgia Tech
schedule caught several breaks with no Miami, Virginia
, and a whole slew of manageable games throughout.
The 2026 schedule has another great mix of winnable dates and nasty battles. Here's our analysis of the full slate.

The Good
There are long stretches of games Georgia Tech should win.
Three of the first four games and five of the first seven are against teams that didn't go bowling. Four of the toughest games - Tennessee
, Colorado
, Duke
, and Louisville
- are in Atlanta. However ...
The Bad
The Yellow Jackets
play 11 games against Power Four programs, and Mercer - every game is a landmine.
There aren't two road games in a row, but there also isn't any flow to the slate after the first three weeks, alternating road-home-road-home, etc.
And, worst of all, November road games at Clemson
and Georgia hurt.
What ACC Teams Georgia Tech Will Miss
Cal, Florida State
, Miami, North Carolina
, NC State, SMU, Syracuse, Virginia.
Any year you miss Miami and Florida State is good, and not having to play Cal, SMU, and Virginia is a major plus.
Georgia Tech's Best and Worst Case Scenarios in 2026
Best Case: The Yellow Jackets beat Tennessee
If Georgia Tech can beat the Vols - after beating Colorado - the program's confidence will be sky-high with every game for the next several weeks winnable.
They might not beat Georgia in the end, but they get to the ACC Championship after working their way through the late road games.
Worst Case: Georgia Tech gets tripped up at Stanford
It's a theme now in the ACC - the Bay Area games are weird.
Playing Cal and Stanford throw things off like few other road games. It's a long trip, you're three hours behind, and teams don't always play like themselves.
Georgia Tech loses to Stanford, and it spends the rest of the ACC season trying not to screw up with another conference loss, much less two, but it does, dropping at least two more dates before losing to Georgia.

Games That Will Decide Georgia Tech's Season
1. at Pitt, Oct. 31
It's the toughest ACC road game until having to go to Clemson. If the Yellow Jackets can beat Stanford and Virginia Tech on the road, this becomes massive.
2. Duke, Oct. 10
There's a week off before facing the defending ACC champ. Win this, and Georgia Tech should be 4-0 in the ACC before going to Pitt.
3. Louisville, Nov. 6 or 7
The pressure won't be off against Clemson and Wake Forest to close out the conference schedule if Georgia Tech wins this, but things won't be nearly as urgent.
