- Kim Mulkey on Mikaylah Williams' performance in LSU win over Missouri
BATON ROUGE – LSU women's basketball had to make a last-minute adjustment to its gameplan for Missouri after the student-athlete availability report posted an hour prior to tipoff listed forward Jordan Reisma out for the game
"(Associate head coach Bob Starkey) and I were like, 'OK, we got a problem here,'" LSU head coach Kim Mulkey said after the game. "I said, 'go ahead with the lineup that we had planned to start and then we'll adjust and move Mikaylah (Williams) inside with (freshman forward ZaKiyah Johnson ) and play small."
It worked. No. 7 LSU (24-4, 10-4 SEC) recorded a program record for most rebounds in a single SEC game with 72 while the offense cooked with a plethora of speed, zooming to a 108-55 win over Missouri Sunday afternoon inside Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Here's what Mulkey said after LSU's blowout win over Mizzou (16-12, 4-10).

"I'm not opposed to it but how many times are you going to be able to honestly use a small lineup? You're not going to be able to do it much. What I liked was sharing the basketball, I like the ability to take off and everybody's just running. That puts a lot of pressure on them defensively. When you play bigger teams, their rebounding is going to be hard because we were small."
"Mikaylah's a baller. Actually I told her you're 8 points from 1,500 (career points) go shoot it a few more times. She was short on three or four shots. She'll get it in the next game. I just thought today would be a good day when they told me she was 8 from getting it, that's why I put her back in there. To go in and play inside, the best thing that Mikaylah, in my opinion, did today she guarded (Missouri guard Grace) Slaughter. That kid is tough to guard. She stayed on the floor, she moved her feet, she was outstanding. I don't think Slaughter shot the ball particularly well from what I've seen her do. I think a lot of that has to be attributed to Mikaylah."
"I haven't had a conversation with her. The Ole Miss win, the Duke win, that young lady, those are moments where (MiLaysia Fulwiley) excels. She excelled in those games. In practice after the Ole Miss game, watching her, it put a pep in her step. Those things you can't plan for, they just happen."
