The Gillette Stadium crowd was rocking on Sunday during the New England Patriots -Houston Texans AFC Division game.
The defense gave them plenty to cheer about with four interceptions and three sacks of quarterback C.J. Stroud , while Drake Maye threw three touchdowns in New England’s 28-16 win to advance to the AFC Championship Game.
Mike Vrabel had high praise for the fans after the win.
“They helped. They helped tremendously. They ratcheted it up there in the fourth quarter,” the Patriots coach said. “Some of those stops back by the lighthouse, that really ratcheted up.”
Despite cold temperatures and snow throughout the game, the crowd never wavered.
The Patriots won’t have the home crowd behind them in next week’s AFC Championship Game. The Denver Broncos will host New England on Sunday at Mile High Stadium. While the Patriots went a perfect 8-0 on the road in the regular season, and with Broncos being without quarterback Bo Nix , Vrabel isn’t writing off Denver .
“We’ll keep doing that and we know we got to go on the road. No. 1 seed in the AFC, it’s not going to be easy,” he said . “But we’ll come out and be ready to go.”
