BOSTON — The Brewers promoted former Red Sox pitching prospect Shane Drohan on Monday, ahead of their three-game series against Boston at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox traded Drohan to the Brewer s along with pitcher Kyle Harrison and utility infielder David Hamilton on Feb. 9. In the six player trade, Boston acquired starting third baseman Caleb Durbin along with utility players Andruw Monasterio and Anthony Seigler .
Drohan, a 27-year-old lefty, joins both Hamilton and Harrison who already were on the 26-man roster.
This is Drohan's first MLB stint, meaning he could make his big-league debut at Fenway this week. Boston selected him in the fifth round of the 2020 Draft out of Florida State.
He made one start for the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate, Nashville. He allowed two runs, three hits and four walks while striking out six. He also hit two batters. He reached 95.6 mph with his fastball.
"We're excited about him," Brewers manager Pat Murphy said. "It was maybe him, maybe someone else to make the team out of spring. We're really excited about him. He could be a starter. The fact that it's happening here, a place he aspired for this to happen, I think that's pretty cool. He'll pitch these next couple days."
Hamilton has a .458 OBP
The 28-year-old Hamilton, who appeared in 204 games for Boston from 2023-25, is only 4 for 17 (.235) but he has a .458 on-base percentage with seven walks against four strikeouts.
" David Hamilton is playing with intent," Murphy said. "It's not about the numbers. If you know the kid and you know what he's working on, it's really cool. Where that leads? I think it's going to be in the right direction."
Harrison has a 2.61 ERA in two starts
Lefty Kyle Harrison has made two starts for the Brewers, posting a 2.61 ERA (10 ⅓ innings, three runs), 0.97 WHIP, 14 strikeouts, three walks and a .189 batting average against.
The Red Sox initially acquired Harrison from the Giants on June 15, 2025, in the Rafael Devers trade .
