MINNEAPOLIS — Red Sox starter Garrett Crochet allowed 11 runs while recording just five outs against the Twins on Monday.

It marked the second shortest start of Crochet's career, behind only a rain-shortened start for the White Sox against Texas on Aug. 27, 2024, when he threw just four pitches without recording an out. There was a 1-hour, 29-minute delay in the first inning of that start and he did not return when the game resumed.
Monday marked the shortest start of his Red Sox career, entering the game having pitched at least five innings in 34 of his 35 starts with Boston. His previous shortest start with the club came Aug. 11, 2025, at Houston when he allowed five runs in four innings.
He had never given up more than seven runs in any of his previous 67 starts entering Monday.

The Red Sox lost, 13-6, and are 6-10 on the season.
