UNC wrapped up a disastrous 2025 with a 4-8 record under Belichick in his first season as a college coach.
The offense under Kitchens left much to be desired. The 19.3 points per game were 119th in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and the Tar Heels’ 288.8 yards per game were 129th.
Petrino was the Atlanta Falcons coach in 2007 but resigned from the position after 13 games. He landed with Arknasas and also spent time with Western Kentucky, Louisville and Missouri State.
