- Why Grace Knox did not play in LSU women's basketball's win vs Missouri
BATON ROUGE – LSU women's basketball freshman forward Grace Knox did not play against Missouri Sunday afternoon, missing her first game this season.
Kim Mulkey told reporters following LSU's 108-55 blowout of Mizzou that it was a "coach's decision" to not play her.
"She's good. I just didn't play her," Mulkey said. "Yeah, I guess you could say coach's decision. Yeah, it was. There's nobody else that makes that decision."
Knox has not played since she was hit with a technical foul Thursday night in LSU's come-from-behind 78-70 win at No. 17 Ole Miss . Rebels guard Cotie McMahon drove through the lane before Knox leapt up and blocked her shot, subsequently called for a tech after she taunted following the play at the 5:35 third quarter mark.

Mulkey subbed her out and she did not return to the game. The freshman went through pregame warmups with LSU prior to tipoff against Missouri Sunday inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center but was never subbed into the game.
Knox is the second freshman to be held out of a game this season. Fellow forward ZaKiyah Johnson did not play in the Texas-Arlington game in another scenario that Mulkey described as a coach's decision.
Mulkey said after the Mizzou game that she ultimately decided to let star junior Mikaylah Williams play some at the 4 spot.
"I went with Mikaylah in there. I wasn't really going to play Kate (Koval) and (Amiya Joyner) anymore but they talked me into playing some zone and put them in there so they wouldn't get exposed having to guard on the perimeter," Mulkey said. "There was no need to put her out there."
Knox has been a consistent contributor for LSU in her freshman campaign, playing nearly 18 minutes per game. The 6-2 forward has started 11 games and averages 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds.
