Did the Titans show a commitment to Cam Ward’s development by cutting Will Levis?

I am not surprised by this move, to be honest with you, for a couple of reasons.
One, Mitch Trubisky is the Titans' backup.
So what's the point of holding on to Will Levis when he's gonna be, at very best, your third option, when he hasn't looked very good, when he hasn't made those same kinds of strides that you would expect a quarterback in year four to be making?
And let's not forget, Will Levis was a second round pick, so it's not like the Titans even have, like, a fifth year option that they could exercise for him in 2027.
They don't have a future with Will Levis, so just go ahead and cut ties with him because he's not even going to be your backup.
So that's reason one.
Reason two is Will Levis has spoken to the media and said, "I believe I'm one of the 32 best quarterbacks in the NFL."
He believes that he can be a starting quarterback in this league.
Now, I don't necessarily believe that.
You might not believe that.
You at home might not believe that.
But he believes that.
And I think there's a certain amount of toxicity perhaps that can exist in a quarterback room when you have a young quarterback who was a high draft pick.
He was the 33rd, 34th pick in the draft, so he was a high-end second round pick who believes that he can be a starter in this league.
You also have Cam Ward, who was the number one overall pick, was drafted to be the franchise savior, who didn't have a great rookie year, who hasn't shown a whole lot of optimism in the preseason.
He's feeling the heat.
He's hearing the criticism from some of the local reporters in Nashville.
So you have Cam Ward who w- who i- was drafted to be the future of your franchise, who's maybe feeling a little bit insecure, maybe is the right word to say.
And then you have Will Levis who's over here talking about how he thinks he can be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
That's not necessarily the healthiest environment for a young quarterback who's looking to get his confidence back, who's with a new coaching staff, who is in a really, really critical year and critical position with the Tennessee Titans.
So I think at this point, look, Will, if you wanna go and find a starting job elsewhere, please, by all means, go do it.
But we have to invest in and foster the confidence in the relationship of Cam Ward.
So we'll just go ahead and cut ties with you.
I don't disagree with the, the decision in the slightest, and it's not a surprise to me
