We get to September and I'm like, hell yeah, it's fall, it's football season, and then like, there's a string of 95 degree days, and I'm like, uh, it doesn't feel right.
People are putting out Halloween decorations and stuff and And it's uh and it's also gross.
It's like the temperature today in Chicago is gonna be like 91, and then the feels like temperature because of the humidity is gonna be 105.
Yeah.
It's like you're breathing in like stagnant soup, like the air like you can.
Feel it.
It's the worst.
You don't even want to go outside.

This is where we live, but it's just like, I'm like , OK is beautiful though.
Well, it is when it went like, but for how long?
Like February, miserable, right?
March, like it's raining.
You get a few days, maybe in March, maybe a couple days in April, and May is OK.
It's really like June, like half of May, June.
In a little bit of July and then August it just turns into a sauna.

I ran into Adam Sandler in Las Vegas.
We were in the same elevator together.
I completely froze , and I think I made it even more awkward because I didn't even respond when he said hello.
Yeah, I was just completely frozen.
He of course was nice and completely normal, can't imagine if it was Taylor.
What would you do in that, we didn't talk about that scenario.
You walk into an elevator and like, You, it's like Taylor Swift is staying there by herself.
It's just Taylor Swift.
She's like staying at the hotel or something, and then like the doors closed behind you, like what do you do?
I don't know how, what, hi, I don't know, what would you even say?
I don't know.
I mean, that's the exact scenario though, where like, you're not bothering them, you're not interrupting a dinner or anything like that, like, obviously you didn't like chase anyone around, like you're literally just in an elevator, like, she probably doesn't ride elevators by herself, like in public, like she's gotta have security with her, right?
Like wouldn't you?
You know what I mean?
Just like I, I mean, I guess she, she, she, she can't have somebody with her at all times, but like when you're that famous, man, like that famous, yeah, I think I would, if I walked in, I would just be like, oh.
Hi Taylor Swift.
Like I might just, you know what I mean, like, and then I wouldn't be weird or like make her talk to me, you know, um, just say hi, like she knows you know who she is for the, you know, and, and then, right, right.
I'm sure she would say hi and be kind and elevators are always weird.
I'm always uncomfortable in elevators, even with strangers.
Right, they're so awkward.
I just usually try to play on my phone, right, cause like, oh, here we are, me and you, you know, it locked in a box.
You know, uh, yeah, yeah, uh, for all of the, those of you with anxiety, social anxiety, not a, not a fun place to be.
Well, let's dive into the show.
So, um, there's gonna be football played, uh, soon, not this week, but next week.
And, uh, the Chiefs have their 53 man roster.
There's always a little bit of controversy, and, you know, depending on how closely you follow the folks in the preseason, there was a wide receiver, Andrew Armstrong, who a lot of people really Though he played well, and they, they think we need help at receiver.
He didn't make the team, but they brought him back to the practice squad.
So that was one guy that like, a lot of people were kind of sad about.
There was a lot of fighting about, like, people were like, why did we keep Niico over Mijio instead of this guy, like this is a thing that happens to Chiefs fans in preseason, they go a little loopy.
Can I, I love being a Chiefs fan.
I think that like Chiefs Kingdom itself is so unique and wonderful, however, Chiefs fans, I think with love, respect.
And in admiration, we will find anything to complain about constantly.
Love us so much, but if there's something to complain about, we will find it.
And I get it, like you find a favorite, you're excited about them, you want them to make the team, and some people, you know, sometimes that people accuse Andy of being too safe with the roster, and Niko or Mijio is a guy that a lot of people believe.
He doesn't have like a Tyreek Hill ceiling or anything, like he's just a guy, he's a back end of the roster guy.
And when they see a guy like Andrew Armstrong showing out in the preseason, they're like, well, why are you keeping Remijio?
And there's all kinds of reasons for it.
Remijillo is a returner for them.
He's somebody they trust to catch the ball and not fumble, but I don't know if you remember a couple of years ago when Sky Moore was dropping it all the time.
It was terrifying, right?
Um, this doesn't mean that the Chiefs coaching staff is above reproach or that they don't get things wrong.
He got cut.
They have to cut him.
He has to go through waivers, OK. Everyone in the NFL.
Had the chance to Claim him on the waiver wire, one by one, and, and, and put, put him on their roster.
Nobody did it, right?
He did it.
See, and that's the tea, isn't it?
Like, right, it's the stuff that you don't Andy Reid made the same choice every other NFL coach made, right?
Exactly.
And so it's like, well, you know, these, and it doesn't mean he's a bad player, but, but roster spots are incredibly valuable.
Like I think that's what people need to understand is that other teams, if they claim you on waivers.
They can't put you on their practice squad, they have to put you on their roster for a little while, anytime you pick somebody up off waivers.
So, excuse me, it's a big, like, it's a big thing to do that because you only have so many spots.
It's just, it is what it is, like he had a nice preseason, but like he's not really ready to be on an NFL roster yet.
And look, if the Chiefs cut Niko Ramijio, he might have passed the waivers too for all we know.
There's there's, there's no way to know, you know, so I can see the argument like, we'll keep him and cut Niico and embrace, but it is what it is.
So, I mean, there, there were a lot of guys that lost their gigs, um, you know, some other names that people might be familiar with, uh, Amari, uh, DeMarcado, who they brought in at the running back position.
He ended up going to, I think the Cowboys after he got cut.
He was a guy a lot of people thought would make the team, but the Chiefs have, um, Uh, Emmett Johnson, who they drafted out of Nebraska, who they really, really like, and so it kind of made him expendable.
So these moves are tricky, and, um, they made a couple trades for some, they made a trade for an offensive lineman.
There's all kinds of stuff going on right now.
Josh Simmons has a back injury that's scaring the hell out of everybody.
Um, people are worried about the offensive line.
I'm just ready for the season to get here because it's that time of year where like if guys are banged up.
You just don't know.
Like, Josh Simmons, is his injury really serious, or are they just being like, why are we, like, we need him for the regular season, we're not gonna mess with it.
We're gonna let it's bad, you know.
So those are the things that are going on right now.
On the football side, Travis Kelsey did make the team, so that was a relief.
We were worried.
I was panicky.
I was a little panicky that he might, he might get cut, um, but he, he did it, he made it, and, um, I did see a clip of him, uh, from New Heights talking to Jason about Patrick.
He said, um, Patrick looks great.
He said that he, one of the this I thought this was interesting, he said one of the reasons he wanted to come back was because he saw how Patrick, after the injury, took how last season went personally and got right into the rehab and was really raring to go, and he said, uh, this is an exact quote, um, but he said, I wanted to be there for him, like I wanted to be here for that, that's one of the reasons I came back.
So I thought that was interesting news for this audience.
Um, these guys are really close and Travis loves football and they've got, feel like they've got some unfinished business.
So it's, I, I, I, whether they win the Super Bowl or not this year, I hope they can go back on a, go out, like Travis can go out on a positive note in the playoffs, in a, in a close game, something like that.
Exactly.
Yeah, but I want him to win the Super Bowl, win the Super Bowl, guys.
Freaking, please, um, did you see this craziness?
About this fake Forty-Niners player .
Holy, oh my God.
So this guy, so basically, OK, let me, if I, let me see if I understand properly.
So this man for how many years was just pretending he was an NFL player and scamming women out of money.
Yeah, like on his Instagram, um, and like the play was, I guess.
Get a woman Spoil her with things, make her think you're good for the money.
Meanwhile, you're finding a new woman.
Then you ask the previous woman for money, use that money to spoil the new woman, ghost the old woman, wash , rinse, repeat.
He's a con man.
It was such a bizarre and crazy story, and I have to say there's a, there's an element of it that has annoyed me a little bit, even people I really like and respect, like.
Uh, Mina Kimes from ESPN love Mina, love her.
And she made a video and she was like, ladies.
Like, it does not, it's not hard to figure out if, if somebody's an NFL player, and I understand that line of thinking, every, most people are pointing out, they're like, come on, like, take a two minute Google search and see if this guy actually exists.
They have their roster, you know, the games are on.
I just didn't like the undercurrent of like, Y'all women are idiots, and like, where's the, where's the anger directed at the con man who was not everybody's a football fan, like, it's their fault for getting conned, like, for people who have their, like, who are on the pulse of the NFL, the whole story is so ridiculous that it's like, oh my God, how did they not realize or how did they not know, but for people who are just entirely separate, they don't watch football, that's not a culture that they subscribe to, like.
How would you know?
How would you know that like, equipment and helmets don't leave the field, like, you, he shouldn't have his helmet on the beach, like, how would you know that like, he should, he should have videos of like his college career, he should have photos with his teammates, he should be listed on this specific website's roster, like, you just wouldn't know those things.
We live in such a nasty society sometimes these days, and it's like, guys, like, anybody can get tricked.
It's smart people, like anybody, I know brilliant people who've gotten conned or accidentally clicked a phishing link, you know what I mean?
Like, it happens, like, so like, just look, it's a funny story and it's sort of silly.
I feel bad if anybody lost significant amounts of money or, you know, um, these are, there are actual people on the other end of this.
This guy got arrested.
It's not like how he just used it to date people and like, you know, lied about his profession.
He actually stole from people, so he's a piece of shit and Uh, it's a funny story, but there are actual victims here and like, let's, let's.
Let's, uh, let's turn our, our, uh, derision to him, the, the, the perpetrator .
You know, it's not grandma's fault that some Nigerian prince scammed, like, you know what I mean?
That's a great point.
Like this is, this is this, this generation's Nigerian prince is people pretending to be famous or celebrities or NFL players.
Yeah, and it's, and it's incredibly like people have made social media videos where like they got like lookalikes or they, they've even made videos where they don't even look like anybody, they just got, they had people pretend to be paparazzi and follow them around and like the way people act towards somebody who they think is famous, like, it is easy to con people, everyone's different, they're attracted to different types of things and like just.
This guy sucks and what a weird story though.
What a, what a weird story.
But yeah, Google people, Google them, uh, um, things happen, man, like, obviously people are weird, but then also like sometimes like, I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but I know it happens to a lot of larger creators like, um, people will just like steal your account, like they'll just steal your picture and they want people to think.
And they'll steal your content and they'll start posting it because they want people to think it's you and so that they'll gain followers and they change the account, they do all kinds of crazy stuff.
Has this ever happened to you and how can people spot like, hey, this is really Jojo's account or some other influencer or or creator that they like?
It happens on TikTok a lot.
People will steal content and they'll just like re-green screen it, so it'll look like me, but it's, it's, and it is my video, but they've repurposed it and changed the date and changed the green screen that I'm talking behind.
First thing is like, check the username.
If it's not one of, it's if it's not one of mine or someone that you know, like if it if it's a mixture of letters and numbers, it's probably not real.
It's just a a clipping account.
Go to the profile, see if they have information on their profile, if they have links, if they have a bio, uh, any personal information.
On TikTok too, it's really easy cause those accounts usually have about like a 2 week of impersonation before they flip it and start impersonating somebody else.
So you can literally just scroll and see that they're copying content.
Check into mutuals, anyone that they follow, do they have many mutual friends online?
If they do, check those people out, see who they're about.
I mean, It's hard cause there's, yeah, there's gonna be people that do that all the time.
At some point you just have to like let go and let God and like hope that people know, you know, the wheel, right, for real.
Yeah, yeah, I think to look at the followers, like Jojo's got like 140,000 followers or something on TikTok.
These accounts are not gonna be able to accumulate that many, maybe they get to like 14 or 15 or something, like just check it like, is this actually Jojo's content and just make sure yeah.
Support the real people.
Um, yeah, it's, this is, this is the world we live in.

Like most of the headlines were like positive stuff.
It was like, you know, oh, the, the, the friendship bracelet shoes came out and all this stuff, and then it's like, it's total tabloid, tabloid tabloid garbage.
It says Taylor's frustrated with how much she and Travis are seeing each other, uh, they, they're quoting an anonymous source to these weird random quotes in there.
I'm not even gonna read them all, but essentially the, the, there's like.
She, he's just working really hard at training camp, and she's not getting to see him as much as she thought she would, and I'm like, this, if you believe this , I don't know what to tell you.
Like, it's complete garbage.
Use your brain, OK?
She's been dating Travis Kelsey for years.
He has gone to the Super Bowl.
He has been out of commission from July.
Until February, early February, for years.
She's gotten to spend more time with him this offseason than she ever has in the history of their relationship.
Training camp starts at the same time every year.
They only can have so many practices.
Maybe he's putting in some extra workouts or film.
Study or something like that, sure.
But like, once he's at training camp, he's at training camp.
Like she's not going up to Saint Joe and hanging out with him in his dorm room.
So like, what are you even talk?
It doesn't even make any sense.

It's all the same.
It's hard to stand out.

So when I googled, right, when I googled Taylor Swift, what story stood out to me?
Caitlin Clark's shoe, Caitlin Clark's shoe, Caitlin Clark's shoe.
Taylor's mad at Travis.
That's the one I clicked on.
They got their money, they got paid.
It's bullshit, don't do it.
Like, don't read the Daily Mail.
Let me just say that there's nothing redeemable in the Daily Mail that, so if you see that, look at, look at your publication and, and vote with your clicks, cause I mean, for goodness' sake.
And I'll say one thing that's gonna piss you off even further.
There was one leak from Taylor and Travis's wedding, and I'll give you one guess which publication it came from.
Yeah, yeah, all our old friends at the Daily Mail, huh?
Yep, um, it was blurry as shit, people didn't share it, you could hardly tell anything, um, but it was a leak, and it was real, um, yeah.
Just gross.
I've been working in this industry since 2009.
And, you know, you're gonna do things, you want people to click on your stuff, the way that everyone's attention spans are so short these days, I would love to just give you the most straightforward headline in the world, but you're not gonna click it.
So like I may leave something out.
I may, you know, we may do a headline like, hey, the Chiefs cut fan favorite.
And then if you wanna read it, you need to, it's free, right?
So like, we would, uh, if it, if it's, I would love to just go straight forward and be like the Chiefs cut Andrew Armstrong and then people, you know, read it, but they don't.
So, this is the world that we live in, we have to we're slaves to algorithms and Google Discover and all this stuff, and if something's getting a high click through rate, then.
It pushes it to more people.
It is a tough, tough industry.
There's layoffs all the time, but what we don't do is crap like this.
Like we don't lie, right?
We deliver on the premise of our headlines, and, uh, it's just, it's so lame, man, and it's, um, it's not gonna, I tell you what, it's not helping the publishing industry because it's not gonna make anybody want to read anything.
So at least you can watch our podcast and get at the skinny, but yeah, that man, just.
Well, adjacent to that.
Is some stuff happening this week with publications, and I think the difference in how they're delivering the information.
So for instance, not to pivot too hard, but we got a full article photoshoot spread from Travis Kelsey with his Tommy Hilfiger ad for Vogue, featuring the dog, by the way, we'll get there in a second.
The way that they delivered the information that the dog.
Existed, even is so much different than the way someone like the Daily Mail or or TMZ or Page Six or whatever has delivered that information before.
In fact, at the same time, a Vogue article dropped and a Forbes article dropped, and they reported conflicting information at first.
The Vogue article was like, oh, they don't want to share the name of the dog.
Forbes immediately was like, the dog's name is Wendy.
But they both went and reissued a uh retractions and changed their articles because they didn't want to post information that wasn't factual.
So like, that's just again, another reason that like when people have When publications specifically have a reputation that they want to uphold for being trustworthy, factual, correct, um, they will make adjustments.
They will change, they will change their articles and their headlines to reflect accurate information.
They will also post updates to make sure that you have accurate information.
Someone who really just wants your click and wants you to like, to be salacious so that you click the article will not change their facts.
They will not update anything, and they will not make sure you have the most up to-date information ever.
Yeah, yeah, and people make mistakes and hey, you make a mistake about Taylor Swift's dog.
That's one thing.
I mean, you be careful, more careful about other things, but you're right, and the dog stuff, I like, I know we're like, we're kind of still on the hater report, but we're, we're, we're transitioning to puppy.

And I came across one of, I, I've complained about this before where I accidentally come across a Taylor hater and I watched the video and I'm like outraged and then I move on and then they , they, they worm their way into my feed.
She's so horrible.
She's got like 200,000 folds, she's miserable, and she calls Travis a lunkhead.
She's like, and she was like making fun of the, the Tommy Hilfiger ad.
She's like, of course he wore a Tommy Hilfiger, a lunkhead is back.
She's like, he's not even attractive.
She's the worst.
Oh, hard disagree.
Travis Kelsey was known as the.
Chief's hottie before Taylor even came into the picture.
Yeah, I mean, even if he wasn't conventionally attractive, shut up.
Like what's the matter with you?
Oh my God it's just rude.
I think like, and those are the kind of people that just lack any kind of empathy.
Of course anyone saying anything about her would be raked over the coals, and it would be anti-feminist, and I'll say it, people like that are freaking miserable.
They have no lives, they need a hobby, um, and the hobby does not need to be getting online and talking poorly about people.
Right, right, and you know.
Um, one of the things he says in the, in the ad, and we're not sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger, but like, he's like, I love, I I always loved Tommy Hilfiger, and she was like, of course he loved Tommy Hilfiger.
Listen, I'm 43.
When I went to junior high.
All of a sudden fashion became a thing, right?
Like nobody in elementary school, 6th grade, right?
I got to, I got to 7th grade and all of a sudden, uh, uh, everybody was wearing Tommy Hilfiger and I was coming home.
It's like for the first time in my life, like I was wearing Bugle Boy before that and I was like, mom, can I, can I get Tommy Hilfiger?
And it like, it was expensive.
We couldn't afford it.
Yeah, and I got a Tommy Hilfiger t-shirt for Christmas, and I was so excited.
That's awesome, yeah, and I, and so it was a big deal.
I'm a little bit older than Travis, not that much older, but a little bit older than Travis, so I totally understand he was around.
For when Tommy Hilfiger was a big deal and then it kind of, it was over and just still existed.
It was like when I, it was like, it was like Tommy Hilfiger and Nautica and stuff like, yeah, yeah, yeah, real preppy and like boat shoes and all that crap, you know, um, but yeah, so anyway.
He totally would.
I totally understand why he would like kind of come back to that as a sponsor now.
Um, I kind of hope it kind of comes back a little bit, cause like I liked my Tommy Hilfiger stuff, not all of it, but some, but, you know, but yeah, so the puppy.
Oh my God, she's so cute.
Really cute dog, right?
So we had, we've talked about the dog before on this show, cause there were some paparazzi pictures that got posted of Travis with the dog, um, and we had talked at that time, like, what's the dog's name?
What's the dog's name?
Um, we got confirmation, the dog's name is Wendy.
Um, that was confirmed in a couple of articles and on New Heights.
Travis and Jason were talking about her.
She's a cute little puppy, she's Approaching one year old, she's a Samoyed, so she is like the most kitten looking dog I've ever seen in my life, um, yeah, she's a cutie.
Yeah, see, I'm looking at one of the, one of the pictures, and Travis has on like a Like a, like a jack, he's like laying with a dog, and he's got on a, like a thick.
Maybe it's wool jacket with like a big um.
What is this, like a lapel breast thing.
I think it looks, I think it looks sharp, man.
He's got, looks like he's got on a turtleneck, white turtleneck, uh, it looks good, man.
I'm like, I'm, I'm kind of OK.
I'm ready for turtlenecks to come back for, for guys.
I don't feel like people are really rocking them too much these days, but I used to have a cheese turtleneck.
I used to have a Chiefs turtleneck .
It was red, and I'd wear it under my jersey whenever I wore the jersey and it had the arrowhead, the KC right here.
I wonder if those are still that.

Do you know what I think though is this from this photoshoot, I, it's so funny that you say this, um.
I do, I like Travis.
I like his fashion.
I think it doesn't always hit, but it's pretty fashion forward.
Um, something that was happening this summer with the World Cup is a lot of those players were carrying like Birkins, like $100,000 Birkin bags, very fashion forward, Gucci, vintage Fendi, um, and Travis has one.
So for me, I am hoping that becomes more of a trend with NFL players this year, carrying those high-end bags while they travel.
I think it's just a really fun way to express yourself.
I wasn't familiar with what what a Birkin bag is , uh, until a few years ago, and I, uh, you know, I was trying to think of what to get mag for, uh, like Christmas or something, and I looked it up and I was like, oh, not that you will not be purchasing one of those.
Um, yeah, not that.
You're gonna have to sell the house, uh, they look cool, but yeah, not, uh.
Not gonna happen.
Um, yeah, yeah, dog's beautiful, dress looks great.
Maybe I'll, maybe I'll pick up some, uh, I have to, I have to check out the line, the old Tommy Hilfiger line.
I did go in and I bought a couple things.
I'm keeping some for Christmas for my husband.
Some of them were surprisingly affordable, some not so much, but it's expensive.
It always has.
Tommy Hilfiger, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, you get a, you get a piece here or there.
It's, you don't have to buy the whole, the whole thing.
Um, all right, let's, uh.
Sheesh, it's a time for Taylor school.
It's fall incoming, it's September.
Guys, it's all too well season.
This is like a big deal.
OK. Um, I've told you , I've been like kind of holding off on this.
I was waiting for a week when we didn't have very much news, um, and so like right before Chief season starts, I think this is perfect because All Too Well is It's an excursion.
OK, um, in Taylor and Taylor Swift and her songwriting.
So before I kind of dive in, do you know anything about All Too Well?
If so, what?
I, I know that, I just know that our audience had a lot of people have it in their top 10, and they all seem to love the 10 minute version.
That's, that's the extent of what I know.
So what's the other version?
Yeah, we're gonna go over all of it because I think both versions are important.
It's worth noting.
In the Swifty Phantom, All Too Well, the short version was widely known as Taylor's best written song before she gave us the 10 minute version.
Like that's why people are so serious about this song.
When you ask people what's your favorite Taylor Swift song ever, and they say, uh, all too well 10 minute version, the follow up is like, yeah, totally for sure.
OK, what's your second best favorite?
Like that song is so good that it's a given, you know.
Yeah.
So let's back up.
So All Too Well, we're gonna call it All Too Well Light, just the standard version for now, came out on the Red Album, and it is a track 5.
Now we haven't really talked much about track 5s, but Taylor has this sort of tradition.
That started unknowingly and has now become something she does on purpose, which is that her track fives are widely known as these deep, lyrically dense, emotional, vulnerable songs.
The Red Album drops and All Too Well is listed as our track 5.
So immediately Swifties were like, oh, this one's gonna hit.
Even the light , the short version, um, again, became such a fan favorite.
It was not a single, um, but it became such a fan favorite that when Taylor performed at the Grammys, she performed all too well because the fans loved it so much.
So just imagine that someone on a Grammy's run for this album performs a deep cut track that's not even a single just because her fans love it so much.
Like that's what All Too Well was for us.
And then Taylor made a mistake.
Impossible.
I know, right?
It was a few years after Red and she was giving an interview and she dropped that All Too Well started as a 10 minute song that she had kind of had to cut down to fit on the album, and that didn't land well with Swifty.
We wanted the 10 minute version immediately, um, and people hounded her.
She would be like on live and they'd be like, where's the 10 minute version of All Too Well?
She had mentioned to us a few times throughout the years that like, oh, it's, you know, it's in pieces, it's it's in a drawer somewhere, I don't know where it is, and when Taylor announced that she was re-recording all of her original 6 albums and adding vault tracks.
Then we were like, oh, we might get the 10 minute version, which is part of the reason why Red Taylor's version, the re-record, got so much hype, because that song specifically was something Swifty had been waiting for.
The song has multiple bridges.
It is, it's something we've mentioned about Taylor before, when she just kind of, she'll say something and then keep going and then keep going again.
That's all too well, but it didn't stop with a 10 minute vault version.
When she re-released Red Taylor's version, she released a short film, all too well a short film.
The song itself is a breakup song, um.
It's about heartbreak.
It's about like looking back on the memories you have with someone and remembering everything so clearly and then also like not understanding how someone could throw that away.
There's a metaphor of a scarf.
Some people think that that could be a metaphor for her innocence or even her virginity, um.
There's, there's just a lot of layers to this song specifically, um.
The short film was starring uh Sadie Sink from Stranger Things.
Do you know her?
Yeah, yeah, I love Stranger Things.
Yeah, Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien, and Sadie Sink plays a young Taylor essentially in the in the short film, um.
It is She's significantly younger than the male counterpart, that's intentional, um.
I rewatched it this morning before I got on this podcast, just to like refresh myself and That short film has been out now for what, like 5 years.
I still cry, um.
There is this moment in the middle of it where the song breaks and the main couple is fighting.
Um, About how he treated her, and she was like, I don't.
I don't understand why you did this thing to me, you know, I don't, I'm sorry, I don't want to give spoilers to you cause I do think you should watch it, um.
But the whole fight, that whole intermission.
Every When you watch it, it takes your breath away because it feels so real.
The way that he gaslights her, um, she's like meeting his friends, you know, and he doesn't pay attention to her, he just ignores her, and she's like everyone was older than me, like you didn't include me, like I didn't feel like anybody wanted me there, like you wouldn't hold my hand, um, and he's saying to her like, I can't believe you're upset about this thing, like I didn't even realize that.
I was just having fun with my friends, like you're so insecure, and it just It's so real.
It's not this huge outburst, the fight ends positively actually, but it's so, it's just so real.
How did I miss, like, because you know me, like what got me into one of the things that got me into Taylor Swift was videos, you know, the blank space video, which is so cinematic, so like I am really excited.
I didn't know that there was a 10 minute like little featurette here.
I'm pretty excited to uh check this out.
Yeah, it's one of those things that I think just flew under the radar because like the Midnight's album came out and then very quickly the era tour and I, I think still at this point in time, Taylor wasn't sure how well the general public would latch onto something like a 10 minute song and a 15.5 minute long music video.
All too well 10 minute version did go number one after she released it.
Um, I think again someone quote me, um, it might be the longest song ever at a number one spot.
It beat an old record.
It features some of the best Taylor lyrics.
Ever.
The light, the short version had that already, and then she released Taylor's version, the 10 minute version, and it was like, There's just so much more.
Like there's this line that I, I quote all the time as my favorite Taylor lyric of all time, and she says, um, you kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath.
The whole thing is this super strong metaphor and it I think that you'll like it.
It's very fall .
Um, So I mean, yeah, that kind of that that brings us to our homework, right?
Like obviously your homework this week is all 2210.
I do think you should listen to the short version first, just to kind of get So anyone following along too, my suggestion is start with the short version.
Hear what we heard as Swifties first, um, why we fell in love and why we got attached to that song, then listen to the 10 minute version and the expanded version, and you get so much more story and detail and then watch the short film .
Got it.
Oh, I'm, I think this might be the homework I'm most excited about so far.
I'm incredibly excited for you.
Dramatic element to it, two versions of the song, yeah, I'm, I am, uh, I've heard, I've been hearing about this the whole time we've been doing this podcast, so I'm really excited to, to finally dive into it and check it out.
And like, I don't know, it's just sort of knowing too, the Red Album is like something we, a lot of Swifties consider as like Taylor's favorite child, like.
She just seems to really love that album, so much so that she like even on later albums in the Torture poets department, there's a song called the manuscript that she's writing about filming All Too Well, the short film.
Like she doesn't really do that often, like reference her own work, and that was one place that she did, she always comes back to All Too Well.
It is, it will be one of the, in my opinion, it will be one of the pillars of her career, one of the things that she will be known for 50 years from now.
Mm, mm, OK. Oh, well, that's uh Yeah, you've set it up well.
I'm excited to, uh, to dive in.
This is gonna be exciting I can't wait to hear what you have to say about it.

Um, should we talk about Mirrorball?
Oh yes, we should talk about Mirball.

So, you said, what, what did you think was gonna happen?
I wasn't sure if you were gonna love it.
I, and I'll just, I'll expose myself.
It's not a song that I come back to and listen to very often, um, but I think my point in giving you that song was to give you a little bit more insight to Taylor and like Taylor's thought processes, and so my hope was with you listening to it, it would kind of change your perspective on almost all of her music.
Yeah, um, well, maybe it was , you know, maybe there was an element there of like you being like, I don't know, I don't know if you're gonna like it, you even mentioned it after we got off the air last week, like you're like, I don't know, um, and so I, I kind of went into it being like, oh, OK, maybe this isn't gonna be like one of my favorites, and I really loved it, the more I listened to it.
I actually really think um it's It's really interesting, um, it's sort of meditative.
You know what I mean?
Like you can kind of put it on, like when you first start listening to it, it feels, I don't want to say one note, but there's not a lot of variance, um, and so at first I was kind of like, OK, it's a little slow and I'm listening, and then I, you know, I, as I, when I do these homework assignments, I try to listen to it throughout the week, and I try to , but I try to find times where I can just like Like spam the song like 4 or 5 times in a row, so I can really like see if it climbs its way into my head.
Like a lot of her work, it kept circling back in my head.
And uh, you know, it's really, what really jumped out at me as I was listening to it was I, I liked the music and I like the melodies and everything, and I was like, hey, these lyrics are really interesting, and we've done lyrically dense Taylor, we've done like maybe a little bit ratty Taylor, and in this one I thought was sort of, I the the word that just kept popping into my head when I was listening to it was vulnerability.
She's basically like kind of admitting like I'm.
I'm constantly adjusting myself depending on who's watching, and, you know, of course, what, what, what do you want, do you wanna, do you want to assign this to like a love interest or to everyone, you know, what she's singing about, uh, it can be both, of course.
And I thought like the mirror, mirror ball image is really smart, which like, if, I don't know if you guys don't know, like it's like, like a disco ball, you know, they have them in theaters to check the light and all that stuff.
The thing about a mirror ball like is that it, it doesn't make any light of its own.
It reflects.
Every, every, all the other light back, right?
Um, and make something like pretty and beautiful, and I just thought that was sort of a beautiful metaphor for somebody who's like, Whose life is built around entertaining other people.
We talked about how she's an entertainer and she's a really good entertainer, and I thought this song as I was listening to it, I was like, man, she's sort of talking about like, There's like a sadness underneath all that too, like she's a person, she wears these outfits, and she changes, she like the eras, right?
Like she goes through these eras, and so it's like the song is like, it's like here I am, like I'm this person who I'm like kind of working my butt off to remain interesting and charming or like whatever the audience needs or the person that she's talking about wants from me, and I thought that tension was really compelling, um .
And I, it's just sort of like the way that she has these errors, the way that she reinvents herself.
I mean, I don't think that she's like a person who like, does all this stuff just for the audience and the fans and not for herself.
I don't think that she, I like, I, I, I just want to be careful about my analysis here so people don't think that I think that she's just like a, an empty skirt, you know what I mean?
Like she's just doing stuff only for the audiences and only to make money.
I think she's an artist, but when you are an artist, and you, you bring your, like if you're gonna make good art, you bring yourself to that.
And it has an effect on you, you make decisions, uh, for your art, and they have an effect on you, and when you go on stage, you, you have to be a certain way, and you don't maybe feel that way at the time, you know what I mean?
You have to make decisions and choices, and so all of the things that she does that makes her such a successful entertainer, think about all of the like the love interest stuff that we know about and her background and the, the personal and professional things that she's dealt with.
Yet she keeps going out on stage, she keeps making art, and I think it's just really fascinating.
I think it's a fascinating song, I think the lyrics are really interesting, and uh they're straightforward in in a less juvenile way than than the last song that we were talking about, you know, but in like a just a very open heart sort of way.
I, I really liked it.
It didn't make my top 10, but I looked at my, it's getting harder.
Because I love these songs and better, you know, so it's getting more and more competitive.
I have it, but I have like a little list of like even the stuff that I don't put in the top 10, and it's at number 11 on my list, you know, uh, like I really, I really enjoyed it quite a bit for a lot of.
I love it.
I love when she says like in that, um, in the end she's like, I've never been a natural.
All I do is try, try, try, yeah, yeah.
And that Taylor has alluded to that before, that like, especially early on in her career, people didn't like her, so she would change her look, people didn't like her music, so she went pop, people said she was dating too much, so she just hung out with her girlfriends, and it was always this constant critique of her and like her persona, and she's still constantly like, yeah, she's evolving because she loves to push her boundaries as an artist and and take things to a different level, but There's been other less good reasons why she's been changing and evolving, and some of that is due to public critique of her, um, and her wanting to people please and, and show everyone the best parts.
Yeah, yeah, and you know, as an actor like.
You, you have to, when you go out in front of an audience, you, you have to sort of feel them out, and it's gonna be, the audiences are gonna be different.
And so, um, the last show that I did, which was, was largely a comedy.
Um, there were, and we only did 3 performances, but they were like, in one performance, they were really into me.
They thought everything that I was doing was hilarious and they were laughing, and then, and actually it was actually, I learned after the show, I went out on stage the second night.
And I felt like, uh, the, the young gentleman that was one of my co-stars, Isaiah, it seemed like he was, he was getting a lot of laughs.
The audience was really responding to him.
And so, um, as an actor, you can try to do one of two things.
You can be like, well, I like getting laughs, so I'm gonna really try to play out my comedy so that they're laughing at me.
Bad decision.
Or you can go out there and be like, the audience is really, so you, you play the straight man a little bit.
Maybe you pull back on some of your stuff and you set up his lines that are really funny.
Well, after the show, he had like, his, a lot of his family was there.
So a lot of, like a large portion of the audience were there and they were supporting him, and so they were really vibing with what he was doing.
And that was, and I didn't know that when I was on stage, but I just knew the audience was really loving Isaiah that night.
And so I tried to do my best to support the work that he was doing and still be true to my work, uh, and that's, that's something that you have to do, um, and I think that there's a lot of that in the song from Taylor about the way that she.
Is sort of moving through her artistic journey, and I thought this was a really cool and vulnerable song.
I dig it, I dig it quite a lot.
I think I'm gonna listen to it for the rest of the week.
I'm so glad.
I'm so glad.
I was hoping that that's what that song would do for you, so I'm like, I'm really glad that you enjoyed it that much.

Yeah, I'm a big, I'm a big fan of of vulnerability in art, and so it just, it just spoke to me.
It really did.
