We dance every Thursday at 5:30pm! $15 walk-in rate. Capacity is limited—email miamovesme@gmail.com to reserve your spot! More info on miamovesme.com Q: What is this class? A: Mia Moves Me is a full-out light-hearted 60-minute dance workout. Not only can you expect to burn upwards of 700 calories a class, but -sorry to tell ya- you'll probably have fun while you're doin' it. During the hour you'll get a versatile blend of cardio + toning. This is a zero pressure chill vibe with a strong emphasis on ‘you do you’ - open to all people and all dance levels. This is NOT a stressful dance class where you have to overly focus on nailing the moves. We strive for fun, not perfection. I also don’t run around and yell at you to go harder like some of those gym workout classes that take themselves wayy too seriously. You can feel free to modulate the intensity according to your fitness level. All you gotta do is turn your brain off, turn your body on and follow-along as we dance to some fun songs. Before you know it- your mind is clear, your bod has been freed and maybe just maybe, you have a new lease on life:) Q: Why do you call it Dance Therapy? A: 1) feeling your feelings while you dance is encouraged. 2) The endorphin release you get when you combine ecstatic movement + high quality cardio set to colorful music is truly unmatched 3) sweating profusely is like your whole body having a good cry Basically, you’re gonna feel like a teen again but way less cringe! Lol iykyk:)
Classical training. Serious fun. The Oregon Ballet School is a private, year around school with a full ballet curriculum designed around the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England. The school is dedicated to excellence in ballet training for aspiring professionals or enthusiastic hobbyists. In the Children's Division (ages 4-11), instruction is designed to develop basic motor skills as well as balletic technique and vocabulary. The school promotes the enjoyment of dance in a supportive environment. In the Pre-Professional Division, students 11 and older progress from the Intermediate Foundation through the Advanced levels. Pointe work is introduced in this division for students taking a minimum of three classes per week at OBS. Oregon Ballet School features well appointed facilities including two studios opening up to a large lobby, the perfect place for parents to wait for their child, along with a kitchen and snack area. Once a year, OBS students prepare and perform a program for their families and friends. Programs consist of demonstrations of work from the students syllabi together with dances choreographed by the director. The End Of Year show has become a popular and well attended event.
At OIDA, we love Irish dancing, and it shows! Our program is fully non-competitive. We offer weekly Irish dancing classes for ages three to adult in multiple locations, we hold uniquely awesome day camps during school breaks, and we create opportunities for our dancers to perform, whether it's marching in St. Patrick's Day parades, training on one of our Performance Teams, or dancing in our annual Recitals. Your dancer gets everything in one happy place! We believe in building self-esteem and confidence and helping our students feel successful. We set attainable goals, provide level- and age-appropriate challenges, and promote a positive learning mindset. We inspire through example, showing our students how to see the good in each experience, to value that there is always room for improvement, and to enjoy the journey and the hard work that get them somewhere. We encourage our students to be creative, ask questions, and be the best that they can be! Our program is the only fully non-competitive program in Oregon. We are passionate about creating a community where as many people as possible can enjoy Irish dancing as a part of their lives. We strive to be leaders in our industry and are committed to being the best that we can be with punctuality, prompt communication, and organization in everything we do. Our instructors are exceptional people whose innovation and dedication are unparallelled. We love Irish dancing -- join our OIDA family today!
