We specialize in teaching adults and teens how to ballroom dance and have fun doing it! We teach latin, swing, freestyle and ballroom. It’s true that anyone can learn to dance and that most students underestimate their own potential. Patience and clear methodical teaching techniques are what we are known for. Each dance is broken down into graduated steps that make logical sense. Even those students that were completely adamant about their inability to learn have gained applicable dance skills and confidence that they use for the rest of their lives. Music in Motion Dance Studio has been a cornerstone of dance education in Virginia Beach since 1985. Now celebrating our 40th anniversary and expanding to a second location, we offer classes for all ages and levels across ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, acro, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, and more. From our youngest dancers starting at 6 months old to our adult classes and competitive dance company, every program is taught by dedicated, experienced instructors in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Whether your child is stepping into their very first class or your dancer is ready to compete at the regional and state level, we have a place for them here. We also offer adult dance and fitness classes, a National Honor Society for Dance Arts chapter, and signature community events throughout the year.
